The Premise For My First (Published) Book Wasn’t Simple To Come Up With, But In The End I Went With Something I Felt Certain I Could Pull Off.
My Wife’s Grandparents, Two Great Individuals Who Lived Together For More Than 60 Years, Served As The Notebook’s Inspiration. Being One Of Those People Who Loved To Visit On The Weekends As A Child, My Wife Had A Special Relationship With These Two Since The Other Set Of Grandparents Had Passed Away When She Was A Young Child. As Soon As She Turned Sixteen And Got Her Driver’s Licence, She Would Drive Up To See Them On The Weekends. Even After She Left For College (Which Was About Two Hours Away), She Continued To Visit Them A Few Times A Month To Check On Them, Make Sure They Had Groceries, And Do Other Nice Granddaughter Things.
My Wife Was Naturally Excited To Include These Two In Her Wedding Since They Had Such A Particular Place In Her Heart. But Regrettably, We Received A Call The Day Before The Wedding Informing Us That The Grandparents Wouldn’t Be Able To Attend. They Were In Such Bad Condition That Their Doctor Advised Them To Remain At Home, Despite The Fact That They Were Just Forty Minutes Away By Vehicle And Someone Else Could Take Them. That Made My Wife Very Sad, But Because The Day Was So Busy, She Tried Her Best To Ignore It. I Suppose When She Was Waiting To Walk Down The Aisle At The Back Of The Church, It Finally Hit Home For Her. A Tiny Table With A Box That The Florist Had Brought Was Located At The Rear Of The Church. While She Was Standing There, She Couldn’t Help But Notice That There Were Two Flowers Left Untouched—those That Had Been Intended For The Grandparents—in Addition To The Corsages And Boutonnieres For The Wedding Party And Our Parents.
We Attended The Ceremony And Reception, Spoke With Family Members, Danced, And Did All The Usual Things Before Returning To The Hotel. The Next Morning, My Wife Lay Over And Looked Into My Eyes. She Was About As Lovely As Any Woman Had Ever Seemed To Me.
She Questioned, “Do You Love Me?”
I Said, “Of Course I Do,” Perplexed By Her Question.
She Clapped Her Hands Together And Shouted, “Well Good,” In A Commanding Voice. “Soon After, You’ll Do Something For Me,” I Said.
“Yes, Ma’am,” I Said.
Anyway, She Instructed Me To Put On My Tuxedo Once More. She Changed Into Her Wedding Gown, Gathered The Two Bouquets Of Flowers (Which She Had Brought To The Hotel), A Slice Of Wedding Cake, And A Movie That My Brother-in-law Had Taken The Day Before, And We Delivered A Little Wedding Up To The Grandparents.
They Were Happy To See Us Since They Didn’t Know We Were Coming. After We Took Pictures With Them And Watched The Video Inside While Enjoying A Slice Of Cake, My Grandfather-in-law Changed Into His Jacket And Put On The Boutonniere. They Then Told Us The Tale Of How They Met And Fell In Love, Some Of Which Was Later Incorporated Into The Movie The Notebook.
Although Their Tale Was Fascinating, I Will Always Remember That Day For The Way They Interacted With One Another. The Way He Held Her Hand, The Way He Held Her Gaze When He Looked At Her, The Way He Fetched Her Tea And Looked After Her. When I Saw Them Together, I Remember Thinking That, After Sixty Years Of Marriage, They Were Still Treating Each Other The Same Way That My Wife And I Did After A 12-hour Period. I Reflected On What A Beautiful Gift They Had Given Us By Demonstrating To Us On Our Wedding Day That Real Love Can Last Forever.
Despite Being 29 Years Old, Allison Hamilton Still Has A Hard Time Letting Go Of Her First Love, Noah Calhoun. Allie Is Torn Between Her Soul Mate Noah And Her Fiancé Lon, And She Must Make A Choice That Won’t Be Simple Or Without The Risk Of Hurting One Of These Men’s Feelings. You’ll Be Captivated By Nicholas Sparks’ Breath-taking, Intense Romance Tale And Want To Read More. Start Here And Read Nicholas Sparks’ Gripping Book The Notebook If You Don’t Like Romance Novels.
Allie, Then Just 15, Met Noah That Summer, A Low Class 17-year-old Who Was Full Of Life And Excitement, And The Two Of Them Hit It Off Right Away. This Young Couple Was So In Love That They Did Everything Together And Were Never Apart. With Each Other, Starting A Family, And Spending Their Golden Years Together, They Had High Expectations. Even Though They Sometimes Disagreed, They Were Always There For One Another.
I Am Certain That I Am Nothing Unique. I Am A Regular Guy With Regular Ideas, And I’ve Lived A Regular Life. My Name Will Soon Be Forgotten, There Are No Monuments Honouring Me, But I Have Always Felt That Loving Someone With All Of My Heart And Soul Was Enough.
Sadly, Allie Had To Leave Noah Behind And Return To Her Home. Allie Was Brokenhearted And Often Thought About Noah. Noah Was Depressed And Really Missed Allie. One Letter Was Sent To Allie Every Day, But She Never Responded To Any Of Them. Without Telling Allie, Allie’s Mother Had Purposefully Removed Them. She Called Noah “Trash” And Didn’t Believe He Was The Perfect Fit For Allie. Years Passed And None Of Them Had Heard From The Other, Yet Their Love For One Another Remained Undiminished.
You’ll Get Even More Enamoured With Love Tales After Reading The Notebook By Nicholas Sparks. The Notebook By Nicholas Sparks Is Certainly What You Need If You Don’t Like Romance Novels. This Book Will Alter The Way You See Love And Make You Want For It From The Moment You Pick It Up To The Moment You Put It Down. Nicholas Spark Gives Us A Lovely Picture Of The Challenges And Rewards That Love Delivers.
Therefore, It Won’t Be Simple. We’ll Have To Put In A Lot Of Effort Every Day, But I Want To Do That Because I Want To Have You. I Desire Each And Every One Of You, Always. We Are Together Every Day.
You’ll Be Holding Back Tears And Hoping For A Connection Like Noah And Allie’s As A Result Of Nicholas Sparks’ Original Writing. I Couldn’t Put This Heartwarming Book Down And Was On The Edge Of My Seat The Whole Time. I Eagerly Turned Each Page To Find Out What Happened To Allie And Noah.
