From The Author Of A Walk To Remember, This Heartwarming Story Of First Love And Reconciliation Follows A Rebellious Adolescent Who Chooses To Spend The Summer With Her Estranged Father In A Coastal Town In North Carolina.
When Veronica “Ronnie” Miller, Then 17,’s Parents Got Divorced And Her Father Relocated From New York City To Wilmington, North Carolina, Her World Was Completely Flipped Upside Down. When Her Mother Decides It Would Be Best For Everyone If She Spent The Summer In Wilmington With Him, She Is Still Bitter And Estranged From Her Parents, Especially Her Father, Three Years Later. Former Concert Pianist And Instructor Ronnie’s Father Leads A Tranquil Life In The Seaside Town While Working On A Piece Of Art That Will Be The Focal Point Of A Nearby Church.
The Narrative That Emerges Is An Amazing Story Of Love On Many Levels, Including First Love And Love Between Parents And Children, And It Exemplifies, As Only A Nicholas Sparks Book Can, The Numerous Ways That Love Can Both Tear And Mend Our Hearts.
The Last Song Is Nicholas Sparks’ Fourteenth Book To Be Published And Was Released In 2009. The Romantic And Sad Book Was Adapted Into A 2010 Film Starring Miley Cyrus And Greg Kinnear. It’s Interesting To Note That The Script Was Created Before The Book.
A Bildungsroman, The Last Song Is A Book About Growing Up. It Chronicles The Development Of Lead Character Veronica “Ronnie” Miller Over The Course Of A Summer. From Ronnie’s Viewpoint And From The Views Of Many Individuals In Each Chapter, The Story Is Narrated In Flashback.
Ronnie, A Disobedient 17-year-old, Lives In New York City With Her Divorced Mother, Kim. Her Mother Would Shortly Wed Brian In A Second Marriage. Three Years Before, Her Parents Had Split. Ronnie Is Enraged With Her Parents For Divorcing And Upending Her Environment. She Is No Longer Friendly With Any Of Them.
Ronnie Breaks Her Curfew And Gets In Trouble At School. She Gets Taken Into Custody For Shoplifting. She Has Also Stopped Playing The Piano. She Has Lost Her Path Yet Refuses To Take Assistance Or Direction From Others, Particularly Her Parents.
Ronnie Is Estranged From Her Father And Hasn’t Talked To Or Seen Him In Three Years, Even When He Comes To New York. Ronnie Used To Like Playing The Piano With Her Father, But Once He Left, She Stopped. Steve, Her Father, Went Back To His Birthplace Of Wrightsville Beach On North Carolina’s Southern Coast. He Is Both A Teacher And A Former Concert Pianist. He Travelled The Nation As A Professional Musician After Divorcing His Wife. He Gave Up His Previous Way Of Life To Lead A Tranquil Life In The Coastal Town Where He Was Raised. He Is Now Residing In A Church-owned Home Without Paying Rent Until The Church Sells The Home. In Order To Replace A Window That Was Damaged In A Fire, He Is Creating A Stained-glass Window For The Church.
Ronnie’s Mother Makes The Decision To Send Ronnie And Her Brother To North Carolina For The Summer To Reestablish Contact With Their Father. The Ten-year-old Brother Of Ronnie, Jonah, Like The Concept And Is Ecstatic To Attend. Everything In Life Is Fantastic For Him. On The Other Side, Ronnie Believes That This Proves Her Parents Despise Her.
Kim Takes Her Kids To North Carolina, Where She Leaves Them At Their Dad’s Residence. Ronnie Leaves The Home On Her First Day In Town To Attend The Beach Seafood Festival. She Is Knocked Down By Will Blakelee, A Gorgeous Beach Volleyball Player, Who Spills Her Soft Drink Down The Front Of Her Shirt. Ronnie Unexpectedly Knocks Into Blaze And Greets Her While She Is Wiping Her Soda-soaked Clothing. Beach Bum Blaze, Whose Actual Name Is Galadriel, Also Has Divorced Parents. Even More So Than In Wrightsville Beach, She Feels Out Of Place. Blaze Becomes Friends With Ronnie And Assists Her In Locating A T-shirt Vendor.
Blaze’s Lover Marcus Is Performing, So Ronnie And Blaze Go See Him. During His Performance, Marcus, A Conceited Bad Boy, Hurls A Fireball At Ronnie. Marcus And His Friends Are Threatened With Arrest If A Policeman Ever Witnesses Them Acting In That Manner Once Again. They Sat Under The Pier Sipping Beer After The Concert. In Blaze’s Brief Absence, Ronnie Walks Away When Marcus Tries To Approach Her.
A Nest Of Eggs Hidden In The Sand Behind Their Home Is Something Steve And Jonah Find Out About Later In The Book. Raccoons May Consume The Loggerhead Sea Turtle Eggs Since They Are An Endangered Species. Steve Makes A Call To The Neighbourhood Aquarium To Get A Cage For The Eggs. When Ronnie Finds Out About The Nest, He Stays Out All Night To Guard Them.
She Encounters Will On Her Way Home From The Beach. Will, A Volunteer At The Aquarium, Is Separating The Space Surrounding The Nest With Tape. Will Brings Ronnie To The Aquarium So They Can View A Loggerhead Turtle Who Is Hurt. Over Walks On The Beach, He And Ronnie Get To Know One Another And Eventually Fall In Love.
As Her Father Becomes Increasingly Ill Later In The Book, Ronnie Learns That He Has Cancer. She Finishes His Stained Glass Window With Jonah And Will. She Completes A Song For Her Father As Well. Pastor Harris, A Close Friend Of Her Father, Puts In The Window In The New Church. Kim Shows Up At The Conclusion Of The Season To Take Jonah Home. Up Until His Passing, Ronnie Remains With Her Father.
Ronnie Visits New York Once Again. She Is Appreciative Of The Summer They Spent Together Even As She Mourns Her Father’s Passing. She And Her Mother Now Get Along. She Spends The Most Of Her Time Either With Her Brother Jonah Or Practising The Piano. She Practises Every Day And Auditions To Go To Julliard. She Yearns For Will And Is Torn Between Wanting To Hear From Him And Continuing With Her Life. Will, Who Was A Vanderbilt Student, Shocks Her In New York By Announcing His Decision To Transfer To Columbia In Order To Be Near Her.
The Books Of Nicholas Sparks Have Achieved International Bestseller Status, Sold Millions Of Copies, And Been Adapted Into Films. His Most Well-known Book, The Notebook, Came Out In 1996 And Was Made Into A Movie With The Same Name.
Along With Her Younger Brother Jonah, 17-year-old Veronica “Ronnie” Miller Is Sent To Spend The Summer With Her Father In A North Carolina Beach Town. Ronnie Is Hesitant Since She Hasn’t Talked To Her Father In The Last Three Years. Ronnie Had Been Rebellious When Her Father Departed And Had Been Detained A Couple Times For Stealing.
Ronnie Would Benefit From Spending Some Quiet Time With Her Father, At Least According To What Her Mother Believes. When Ronnie Arrives, She Intends To Give Her Father The Least Amount Of Attention Possible. She Meets Local Guy Will Blakelee On Her Very First Day.
As The Summer Progresses, Ronnie And Will Fall In Love, And Since She Is With Her Father Often, She Begins To Trust Him. The Relationship’s Fissures Are Gradually Closing. As The Summer Draws To A Close, Several Tragedies Occur, Leaving Ronnie Devastated. Ronnie Must Accept And Live With Certain Unpleasant Realities That Were Previously Kept From Her.
I’m A Great Nicholas Sparks Fan. He Is A Virtuoso, In My Opinion, At Crafting A Moving Love Story. I Didn’t Even Read The Synopsis Before Purchasing The Book “The Last Song” (One Of The Authors On My Auto-buy List). The Novel Was Written By Sparks, So Sobbing Is A Must. You Will Cry Over It.
My Favourite Nicholas Sparks Novel Is This One. He Always Gives His Works A Depressing Conclusion, And Since I’m A Masochistic Moron, I Really Like Them. The Novel Comes To A Melancholy Conclusion. Not Your Typical Sparks Romance Book, This One. This Is A Father And Daughter’s Tale. Rebuilding The Strained Ties Is The Goal Here. The Father-daughter Bond Is Written About Eloquently. You Are Forced To Consider Your Connection With Your Parents After Reading The Book. The Characters Appear Real—even Too Real—which Is One Of The Major Reasons I Like This Novel So Much. The Feelings Are Evident. The First Few Chapters Drag, But The Pace Picks Up Afterwards.
I Like That Sparks Refrained From Making Will And Ronnie The Main Characters Of The Novel. If The Book Had Been Turned Into A Different Plot, It Would Have Served Its Goal.
I Adore This Book So Much. I Had A Great Time Reading It. A Must-read For Anyone. I Rate This Book 4.5 Out Of 5 Stars.
This Is One Of Those Novels That Deserves No Reviews.
“Even If You Sometimes Have To Be Separated From The People You Care About, This Doesn’t Change How Much You Adore Them. It Happens That You Love Them More.
He Realised That Life Was Quite Similar To A Song. While There Is Mystery At First And Confirmation At The Conclusion, The Majority Of The Emotional Impact Is Felt In The Middle.
“Always Do The Right Thing, Even If It’s Difficult, In The End.”
It Was As Simple As That—he Liked Her.
“As Best As I Can Tell, In This Area Of The Globe, Throwing Soda On People Is The Equivalent Of Saying ‘hi, It’s Good To Meet You. To Be Honest, I Believe Formal Greetings Are Preferable, But What Do I Know?
