In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem
The Virtues And Benefits Of Surah Mulk Are Found In The Quran. We Must Recite Surah Al-mulk Every Day Since It Has So Many Advantages. And Because Wudu Is Required For Holding The Mushaf, We Are Unable To Do So Every Time We Recite The Surah.
So, We Must Commit Surah Al-mulk To Memory. Since There Are Just 30 Verses In The Surah, Memorising It In 10 Days By Memorising 3 Verses Each Day Using Quran Tutor Is Quite Simple. If We Learn Two Verses Each Day, It Will Take 15 Days To Memorise The Whole Surah.
If We Learn One Verse Every Day, We Can Memorise The Whole Sura In 30 Days. In Light Of The Many Advantages Of Reciting The Surah, It Demonstrates That Memorization Of The Surah Is Not A Tough Undertaking. Below Are Some Of The Advantages Of This Surah. The Significance Of Surah Yaseen Is Discussed In “The Heart Of The Quran” Online.
The Holy Prophet, Peace Be Upon Him, Is Said To Have Declared In A Hadith That “Surah Al-mulk Prohibits Retribution In The Grave.” The Holy Prophet, Peace Be Upon Him, Is Grieved By What Abdullah Bin Mas’ud Said: “When A Person Is Buried In His Tomb,
He Will Be Approached From His Feet And The Feet Will Say No Harm To You,” According To Imam Hakim. The Person Used To Stand On Me And Recite Surah Al-mulk, Saying, “You Have No Right To Do Damage For What Is In My Heart.” Then The Person Would Be Approached From His Breast, Which Would Say, “You Have No Right To Do Harm For What Is In My Heart.”
Then, As The Individual I Recounted Before Will Be Addressed From The Head, The Head Will Assert That You Cannot Hurt What Is In The Heart. Abdullah Bin Mas’ud Afterwards Said That This Surah Averts Punishment In The Hereafter. Based On This And Several Other Ahadith, Muslim Scholars Believe That Those Who Consistently Read And Believe In Surah Al-mulk Would Be Spared The Penalty And Will Merit Allah Almighty’s Kindness And Pleasure.
The Prophet, Peace Be Upon Him, Is Said To Have Read Surah Al-mulk Each Night, According To A Hadith. “Whoever Recites Surah Al-mulk Every Night, Allah Will Avoid The Penalty Of The Grave Through This Surah,” According To Abdullah Bin Mas’ud.
Another Legend States That When A Person Reads Surah Al-mulk Before Going To Bed, An Angel Descends To Guard Him Since He Is Unable To Defend Himself While Asleep. Muslims Must Thus Incorporate The Recital Of Sura Mulk’s Explanations And Teachings Into Their Daily Lives. To Do This, They Must Remember The Surah In Order To Repeat It Fluently When Necessary.
Name
The Opening Line Of The Verse Gives The Surah Its Arabic Name, Al-mulk.
The Revelation Era
Although The Date Of Revelation Of This Surah Cannot Be Determined From Any Reliable Story, Its Theme And Literary Form Suggest That It Was One Of Makkah’s First Surahs.
The Principles Of Islam Have Been Swiftly Conveyed In This Surah, Yet They Have Also Effectively Awakened The People Who Live In Heedlessness From Their Sleep.
The Early Surahs Of The Makkan Era Have The Trait Of Presenting The Whole Of Islam’s Teachings And The Goal Of The Holy Prophet’s Mission Succinctly Rather Than In Detail, Allowing For Easy Assimilation By The Populace. Additionally, They Are Specifically Intended To Help Individuals Avoid Carelessness, Make Them Reflect, And Awaken Their Buried Consciousness.
In The First Five Verses Of Surah Mulk, Man Is Made To Understand That The Cosmos In Which He Lives Is A Highly Structured And Fortified Kingdom In Which, Despite His Best Efforts, He Cannot Find Any Defect, Any Weakness, Or Any Imperfection. This Kingdom Was Created Out Of Nothing By Allah Almighty Himself, And All Authority Over It Rests Totally In Allah’s Hands Because Of The Enormous Power He Has.
Man Has Also Been Instructed That Under This Intelligent System, He Was Not Created Without A Purpose But Rather For A Test, And That The Only Way He Can Pass This Test Is By Acting Righteously And Behaving Honourably.
As If To Say, “Now, If You Do Not Believe In What The Prophets Say And Correct Your Attitude And Behaviour Accordingly, In The Hereafter You Will Yourself Have To Admit That You Really Deserved The Punishment That Was Being Meted Out To You,” The People Were Informed Of The Terrible Consequences Of Disbelief That Will Manifest In The Hereafter And That Allah, By Sending His Prophets, Had Warned Them Of These Consequences In This Very World.
The Concept That The Creator Cannot Be Unconscious Of His Creation Is Conveyed In Verses 12–14, As If To Say: “He Is Aware Of Each Open And Hidden Secret Of Yours, Even Of The Deepest Thoughts Of Your Hearts.
Therefore, The Proper Moral Foundation Is That Man Should Abstain From Evil Out Of Dread Of The Accountability Of The Unseen God, Whether There Is A Power In The World To Hold Him Accountable For This Or Not, And Whether There Is A Chance Of Being Injured By Such A Force Or Not. Those Who Behave In Such A Way In This World Alone Will Be Pardoned And Get A Large Reward In The Hereafter.
In Verses 15–23, Which Make References One After Another To Those Universal Truths That Occur Every Day But Which Man Does Not Give Much Thought To, He Is Urged To Do So. “Look, The Earth On Which You Move About In Complete Satisfaction And Tranquilly, And From Which You Derive Your Sustenance, Has Been Subdued For You By Allah;
Otherwise, This Earth Might At Any Time Start Shaking Suddenly In Order To Cause Your Destruction, Or A Typhoon Might Occur, Which Might Completely Annihilate You,” It Has Been Said. Take A Look At The Birds Flying Above You; They Are Only Supported In The Air By Allah. Consider Your Own Abilities And Resources:
If Allah Wants To Punish You, No One Can Save You From It, And If He Wants To Shut The Doors Of Sustenance To You, No One Can Open Them. These Things Are There To Enlighten You On The Truth, But Because You View Them Through The Eyes Of Animals, Who Are Unable To Infer Meaning From Observations, And Because You Do Not Make Use Of The Senses That Allah Has Given To Men Like Sight, Hearing, And The Intellect, You Do Not See Things As They Truly Are.
You Must Finally Come Before Your God, It Is Said In Verses 24-27. The Prophet Is Not Permitted To Provide You With The The Time And Date Of The Occurrence. His Sole Responsibility Is To Inform You In Advance That It Will Unavoidably Happen. The Event Will Happen, And You Will Witness It With Your Own Eyes, But Now You Refuse To Listen To Him And Insist That He Make It Happen And Come Before You Beforehand. Then You Will Hear Someone Say, “This Is Exactly What You Were Calling To Be Hurried.”
The Makkan Disbelievers’ Accusations Against The Holy Prophet (Upon Whom Be Peace) And His Companions Are Addressed In Verses 28–29. They Prayed For The Demise Of The Believers And The Holy Prophet While Cursing Him.
“How Would Their Fate Influence Your Destiny, Whether Those Who Call You To The Correct Road Are Killed Or Offered Compassion By Allah,” It Has Been Stated In Reference To This. You Should Take Care Of Yourself And Think About Who Would Save You If The Scourge Of God Suddenly Descended Upon You. You Consider Individuals Who Trust In God And Believe In Him To Be Misled. There Will Come A Day When It Will Be Clear Who Was Really Mistaken.
Finally, This Subject Has Been Posed To The Populace And Is Now Up For Consideration. Who Else Than Allah Can Provide You This Life-giving Water If The Water That Has Emerged From The Soil At Any Location In The Arabian Desert Or Hill Area And Upon Which Your Whole Living Activity Relies Sinks And Disappears Underground?
Barkat Uses The Superlative Tabaraka. Barkat Is Aware Of What It Is To Be Exalted And Great, To Have Enough And Plenty, To Be Persistent, And To Have Many Virtues And Excellences. When The Superlative Tabaraka Is Created From It,
It Conveys The Idea That Allah Is Infinitely Great And Noble, Superior To Everything Outside Of Himself In Terms Of His Essence, Qualities, And Deeds, And Whose Goodness Is Limitless And Whose Excellences Are Eternal. (For Further Information, Check E.n. 19 Of Al-furqan, E.n. 1.4 Of Al-mu’minun, And E.n. 43 Of Ai-a’raf.)
2the Term “Al-mulk” Cannot Be Interpreted In Any Narrow Sense Since It Has Been Used Definitively. It Would Inevitably Entail Dominion Over All That Is There In The Universe. “In Whose Hand The Kingdom Is” Does Not Necessarily Imply That He Holds It In His Hands Physically, But Rather That He Has All Power And Authority And That No One Else Has Any Stake In It. The Surah Mulk
In Other Words, He Is Free To Act Whatever He Pleases; Nothing Can Thwart Or Prevent Him From Doing So.
In Other Words, The Goal Of Bringing Men Into The World To Life And Bringing Them To Death Is To Put Them To The Test And Determine Who Does The Finest Actions. This Short Phrase Contains References To Many Truths:
(1) That Only Allah Can Bestow Life And Death; No One Else Can Give Life Or Bring About Death;
(2) That A Creature Like A Man, Who Is Endowed With The Capacity For Both Good And Evil, Neither Lives Nor Dies In Vain; The Creator Placed Him In The World As A Test; Life Is For Him The Duration Of The Test, And Death Signifies That The Time Assigned For The Test Has Passed;
(3) That Every Man Has Been Given The Ability To Act For The Purpose Of This Particular Test By The Creator, Allowing Him To Choose To Do Good Or Evil In The World And Demonstrate His Character In Concrete Ways;
(4) That The Creator Alone Will Determine Whether Someone Has Done Good Or Evil; It Is Not Up To Us To Suggest A Standard For Good And Evil Deeds, But Rather For Almighty Allah; As A Result, Whoever Wishes To Pass The Test Will Need To Learn What The Standard Of A Good Deed In His Sight Is; The Fifth Point Is Contained In The Meaning Of The Test Itself, That Is, That Every Person Will Be Compensated According To His Deeds, For If There Were No Reward Or
5there Are Two Interpretations To This, Both Of Which Are Suggested Here:
(1) “That He Is Almighty, And While He Is Supreme Over All His Creations, He Is Kind And Forgiving Toward Them, Not Oppressive And Harsh; And
(2) That He Has Complete Authority To Punish Evildoers; No One Can Avoid His Punishment; But, He Is Kind To Those Who Repent, Stop From Doing Wrong, And Seek His Pardon.
E.n. 2 Of Ar-ra’d, E.n. 8 Of Al-hijr, E.n. 113 Of Al-hajj, E.n. 15 Of Al-mu’minun, E.n. 5 Of As-saaffat, And E.n. 90 Of Al-mu’min Provide More Clarification.
Tafawut, Which Literally Means “Disproportion,” Refers To When Two Things Are Not In Harmony Or Agreement With One Another. Therefore, The Divine Words Signify That There Is No Indiscipline, Disorder, Or Discordance Anywhere In The Creation, And That Nothing In The World That Allah Created Is Out Of Proportion Or Fragmented. All Of Its Components Are Perfectly Interdependent And In Perfect Harmony With One Another.
The Term “Future” Refers To A Split Or Breaking That Is Occurring In Anything. The Verse Is Intended To Convey How Tightly Interwoven And Coherent Everything In The Cosmos Is, From A Single Atom On Earth To The Largest Galaxies, That No Matter How Hard One Tries To Explore And Study, They Don’t Appear To Be Able To Disrupt The Continuity Of The System. (For Further Information, See To E.n. 8 Of Surah Qaf.)
The Closest Heaven Is One In Which Stars And Planets Can Be Viewed Without A Telescope; The Farthest Heaven Is One In Which Things Beyond That Can Only Be Seen Using A Telescope; And The Much Farther-off Heavens Are Ones In Which Even Telescopes Have Not Yet Been Used.
The Term Masabih, Which Was Employed As A Common Noun In The Original, Naturally Conveys The Idea That The Light Is Magnificent And Brilliant. It Translates To “We Did Not Make This Cosmos Black, Barren, And Empty; Rather, We Adorned And Ornamented It With Stars, Whose Splendour And Magnificence At Night Stun Man.” The Surah Mulk
This Doesn’t Mean That The Meteorites Shoot Out Only To Chase Away The Satans Or That The Stars Themselves Are Hurled At Them; Rather, It Means That The Countless Meteorites That Come From The Stars, Travel Through Space At Incredible Speeds, And Fall To The Earth In A Steady Shower Stop The Satans Of The Earth From Ascending To The Heavens. These Meteorites Chase Them Away Even If They Make An Attempt To Climb Towards Heaven.
This Is Significant Because The Arabs Held Soothsayers In High Regard And Because The Soothsayers Themselves Said That They Had Strong Ties To Or Authority Over The Satans And So Had Access To Their Information Concerning The Unseen, Which Allowed Them To Predict People’s Futures. Because Of This, It Is Declared Repeatedly In The Qur’an That There Is No Chance Whatsoever Of The Satans Rising To The Skies And Conveying News Of The Unseen. (See E.n.’s 9–12 Of Ai–hijr And E.n.’s 6, 7 Of As–saaffat For An Explanation.)
Man’s Knowledge Of Meteorites Is Still Unsupported By Science, As Far As The Facts Go. However, The Idea That Appears To Best Explain All Of The Current Knowledge And The Data Gained From The Analysis Of Meteorites That Have Fallen To Earth Is That Meteorites Come From The Fragmentation Of One Or More Planets, Wander In Space, And Sometimes Fall To The Earth Due To Its Gravity. (See “Meteorites” In Encyclopedia Britannica, Vol. Xv.)
That Is What Happens To Everyone Who Rejects Their Lord, Whether They Are Humans Or Fallen Angels. (For An Explanation Of What It Means To Reject The Lord (Rabb), Read E.n. 3 Of Al-mu’min, E.n. 39 Of Al-kahf, E.n. 161 Of Ai-baqarah, And E.n. 178 Of An-nisa’.
13 The Term “Shahiq” Refers To A Cry Like To An Ass’s Braying. The Phrase Might Alternatively Suggest That It Is Coming From Hell, Where Individuals Have Already Been Cast, And That It Is The Sound Of Hell Itself. These People Would Be Shouting And Sobbing. The Verse In Surah Hud That States, “Therein They Will Pant And Hiss (Because Of Thirst)” Supports The Second Interpretation, Whereas The Verse In Al-furqan That States, “When The Hell Will See Them From A Distance, They Will Hear The Noises Of Its Fury And Roaring,” Supports The First Interpretation. Based On This, The Accurate Interpretation Is That It Refers To The Cacophony Created By Both Hell And Its Inhabitants. The Surah Mulk
If A Warning From Allah Had Come To Them Or Not, That Is Not The Question The Guardians Of Hell Would Really Want To Ask Them. Rather, The Goal Would Be To Convince Them That Their Being Sent To Hell Was Not An Injustice. They Would Attempt To Get Them To Admit That Allah Had Not Kept Them In The Dark Or Unwarned; Rather, He Had Sent The Prophets To Them, Told Them Of The Truth And Of The Right Way, And Forewarned Them That Taking The Wrong Way Would Send Them To Hell, Where They Had Already Been Thrown. However, They Had Disregarded The Prophets’ Advice. Therefore, The Punishment That Was Being Meted Out To Them At The Time Was Just And Proper.
The Test For Which Allah Sent Man Into The World Is Not Being Carried Out By Keeping Him Completely Ignorant Of The Requirements Of The Test In Order To See Whether He Found The Right Way On His Own Or Not, As Has Been Repeatedly Made Clear In The Qur’an; Rather, Allah Has Made The Most Appropriate Arrangements That Could Possibly Be Traded For Guiding Him To The Right Way, And It Is That He Has Raised The Prophets And Sent Down The Books.
The Test Of A Man Is Whether He Accepts The Prophets And The Books They Delivered And Follows The Right Path, Or Whether He Rejects Them And Pursues His Own Ambitions, Theories, And Whims. Thus, The Prophethood Is Really An Argument That Allah Has Made Against Man, And Whether Or Not It Is Accepted Or Rejected Will Determine His Whole Destiny. No One Is Able To Claim That They Were Uninformed Of The Truth, Were Caught Off Guard And Put To The Test, Were Being Punished When They Were Innocent After The Prophets Were Appointed.
The Qur’an Has Portrayed This Topic In Numerous Various Ways; For Example, See Al-baqarah: 213, And E.n. 230 On It; An-nisa’: 41-42, 165 And E.n.’s 64 And 208; Al-an’am: 130-131, And E.n.’s 98-100; Bani Isra’il: 15 And E.n.’s 17; Ta Ha: 134; Al-q
Meaning: “Not Just You, But Also Others Who Have Believed In And Followed You Are Misled And Lost In Grievous Wrong.”
16 “Had We Only Listened Or Understood”: “Had We Paid Attention To The Prophets As Searchers Of Truth Or Used Our Intellect To Comprehend What Genuinely Was The Message They Were Bringing Before Us.” Here, Listening Has Been Prioritised Above Comprehending Since Hearing What The Prophet Says Is A Need For Receiving Guidance (Or To Read If It Is In The Written Form, Like A Seeker After Truth). It Is Secondary To Think About It And Try To Comprehend The Truth. Man Cannot Independently Achieve The Truth Directly By Utilising His Intellect And Common Sense Without The Prophet’s Instruction.
17
The Single Form Of The Term “Dhanb” (Sin) Has Been Utilised. In Other Words, Disbelief And Disobedience Of The Messengers Were The True Crimes For Which They Were Deserving Of Hell, And All Other Sins Were The Results Of Those Sins. The Surah Mulk
This Is The Actual Foundation Of Religious Morality. A Very Fragile Foundation For Morality Is When Someone Abstains From Doing Something Because They Believe It To Be Wrong, Because The World Believes It To Be Wrong, Because Doing It Would Likely Result In Loss For The World, Or Because Doing It Could Result In Retribution From A Worldly Authority. Because Of Some Personal Philosophy, A Man’s Personal View May Be Incorrect; He May Consider A Good Item To Be Terrible And A Bad Thing To Be Good.
First Of All, The Criteria Of Good And Evil In The World Have Never Been Constant; They Periodically Shift. In The Moral Theories, There Is Neither One Found Now Nor One That Has Ever Been. Additionally, The Dread Of Material Loss Does Not Provide A Solid Basis For Morality. When There Is No Threat Of Suffering Such A Loss, The Person Who Avoids Evil Out Of Concern For The Loss It Could Create For Themselves Is Unable To Resist Performing The Evil. The Threat Of Being Punished By A Worldly Authority Is Not Another Factor That May Make Someone A Gentleman. Everyone Is Aware That No Earthly Authority Has Complete Knowledge Of The Visible And Invisible Worlds. Many Crimes May Be Conducted Covertly And Without Being Noticed.
Then, There Are Several Ways To Avoid A Worldly Power’s Penalty; Also, Not All Sins Are Covered By A Worldly Power’s Laws. The Majority Of Ills Are Those That Go Beyond The Ambit Of Common Laws, Even If They Are Greater Than The Sins That They See As Penal. Because Of This, The Religion Of Truth Built The Structure Of Morality On The Tenet That One Should Abstain From Doing Wrong Out Of Respect For The Unseen God, Who Sees Man In All Circumstances, From Whose Grasp Man Cannot Escape, And Who Has Given Man A Standard For Good And Evil That Permeates Everything And Lasts Forever.
The Only Genuine Act Of Goodness That Is Honourable In Religion Is To Turn Away From Evil And Accept Virtue Exclusively Out Of Fear Of Him. In Addition, If A Person Refrains From Doing Evil For Any Other Reason Or Engages In What Could Seem To Be Good Deeds, These Moral Deeds Will Have No Merit Or Value In The Hereafter Since They Are Equivalent To A Structure Constructed On Sand. The Surah Mulk
19therefore, Two Unavoidable Outcomes Of Fearing The Invisible God Are:
(1) That One Will Be Pardoned For Whatever Mistakes And Crimes They May Have Made Due To Human Frailties, So Long As They Weren’t Done Out Of Fear Of God; And
(2) That Whatever Good Deeds A Man Does In Support Of This Conviction Will Be Amply Recompensed.
Whether They Are Believers Or Atheists, Everyone Is Addressed Throughout The Speech. It Warns The Unbeliever That While He May Do As He Pleases Fearlessly Of God, Nothing That He Does Can Remain Unnoticed And Unseen By Him. For The Believer, It Contains The Reminder That While Living His Life In The World, He Should Always Remember That Not Only His Open And Hidden Deeds, But Even His Secret Intentions And Innermost Thoughts Are Not Hidden From Allah. The Surah Mulk
21the Phrase “Would He Not Recognise His Own Creatures?” Is Another Possible Translation. Khalaqa, Which May Mean Both “Who Has Made” And “Whom He Has Formed,” Was Employed In The Original Man. The Meaning Is The Same In Both Situations. This Supports The Statement Made In The Sentence Before It. In Other Words, How Is It Possible For The Creator To Be Ignorant Of What He Has Created? Although The Created May Continue To Be Oblivious Of Itself, The Creator Cannot Be. Every Vein In Your Body As Well As The Brain And Heart’s Fibres Were Formed By Him. How Therefore Can Anything Of Yours Stay Concealed From Him? You Breathe Because He Makes It Possible For You To Breathe, And Your Limbs Work Because He Makes It Possible For Them To Work.
22the Term Latif, As Used In The Original, Refers To Both The One Who Operates In Covert Manners And The One Who Is Aware Of Covert Realities And Truths. The Surah Mulk
This Means That “Allah Has So Arranged It By His Wisdom And Power That Your Life Became Possible Here And This Magnificent Globe Became So Peaceful That You Are Moving About On It With Complete Peace Of Mind, And It Has Become Such A Vast Table Spread With Food That It Contains Endless And Limitless Provisions For Your Sustenance. Neither Have Become Subdued For You Of Their Own Accord, Nor Have The Provisions That You Are Eating Here Become Available By Themselves. If You Are Not Blinded By Carelessness And Look About You With Intelligence, You Will See Just How Much Wisdom Went Into Making This Planet Livable For You And Setting Up Innumerable Stockpiles Of Food For You. (See E.n. 73, 74, 81 Of Surah An-naml, E.n. 29, 32 Of Ya Sin, E.n. 90, 91 Of Al-mu’min, E.n. 7 Of Az-zukhruf, E.n. 7 Of Al-jathiyah, And E.n. 18 Of Surah Qaf For Clarification.) The Surah Mulk
24 That Is, “While You Walk The World And Consume The Food That Allah Has Given For You Here, Do Not Forget That Eventually, You Must Stand Before God One Day.” The Surah Mulk
25 This Does Not Imply That Allah Really Resides In The Skies, But It Has Been Stated That Way Because Man Instinctively Directs His Gaze Upward Whenever He Wishes To Turn To Allah, Lifts His Hands In Prayer Upward, And Begs Allah To Assist Him By Casting His Eyes Upward When He Is Helpless Amid Adversity. And So He Refers To The Revelations Of Allah As Heavenly Revelations And Claims That Whenever A Disaster Strikes Him Abruptly Or Anytime Anything Extraordinary Occurs, It Has Come From Heaven. A Guy With A Black Slave Girl Approached The Holy Prophet In Abu Da’ud And Asked Him Whether It Was Possible To Liberate Her Since It Had Become Mandatory For Him To Do So. Where Is Allah, Holy Prophet Asked The Slave Girl?
She Raised Her Forger And Pointed Upward. Who Am I, The Holy Prophet Questioned? You Have Come From Allah, She Pointed First At Him And Then At Heaven, Making It Clear That She Was Trying To Convey. She Is A Believer, Therefore Set Her Free, The Holy Prophet Said. (This And A Similar Narrative Have Been Told In Mu’watta, Muslim, And Nasa’i As Well.) With Regard To Hadrat Khawla Bint Tha’ibah. She Is The Woman Whose Lament Was Heard Above The Seven Heavens, Hadrat ‘umar Once Told The Populace. (In E.n. 2 Of Surah Al-mujadalah, We Have Provided Comprehensive Information On This.) All Of This Demonstrates Unequivocally That It Is Normal For Man To Focus On Heaven Rather Than The World While Thinking About God. The Phrase “Man Fis-samaa” Was Chosen Specifically In Light Of This.
When Referring To Allah, (He Who Is In The Heavens) Has Been Utilised. There Is No Place In This Context For Any Scepticism About The Qur’anic Assertion That Allah Almighty Resides In Paradise. There Is Really No Foundation For This Scepticism Since It Is Mentioned Right At The Beginning Of Surah Al-mulk, “He Who Created Seven Heavens, One Above The Other,” And In Al-baqarah, “You Will Face Allah In Whichever Direction You Turn Your Face.” (V : 115)
26 The Purpose Of This Passage Is To Convey The Following: “Your Very Survival And Well-being On Earth Are At All Times Dependent Upon Allah Almighty’s Grace And Bounty: You Are Not Strutting About On This Earth At Will By Your Own Power: You Are Under Obligation Only To Allah’s Protection For Every Moment Of Your Life That You Are Passing Here, Otherwise Allah At Any Moment May Cause Such An Earthquake To Occur That May Make This Very Earth To Become Your Grave Instead Of The Cradle That It Is,
The Holy Prophet (Upon Whom Be Peace) And The Qur’an Warned The Makkan Disbelievers, “If You Do Not Abstain From Your Unbelief And Polytheism And Do Not Accept The Message Of Tauhid Being Brought To You, You Will Be Overtaken By The Scourge Of God.”
The Surah Mulk
28the Reference Is To The Tribes That Had Disbelieved In The Messengers Who Had Previously Visited Them And Were As A Result Subjected To Divine Chastisement.
29 The All-merciful God Is Protecting Every Bird As It Soars Through The Skies, In Other Words. Each Bird Was Given The Shape And Structure That Allowed It To Fly. Each Bird Was Also Taught How To Fly. The Air Now Obeys The Laws That Allow Heavier Than Air Bodies To Fly In It, Thanks To Him. He Is Also The One Who Holds Each Bird In The Air; Otherwise, The Moment Allah Removes His Protection From It, It Falls To The Ground.
30 This Means That Everything In The World Lives As A Result Of Allah’s Care And Protection, Not Only Birds. He Alone Supplies The Resources Required For Things To Live, And He Alone Ensures That Everything He Has Created Has Access To The Basics Of Life. The Surah Mulk
31 The Phrase “Who Is There Except The Merciful, Who Comes To Your Rescue Like Your Army?” Is Another Possible Translation. The Translation We Used In The Paragraph Above Is Relevant To The Next Statement And This One To The Discussion That Came Before It. The Surah Mulk
32 “Walking Prone On His Face” Refers To Walking On The Same Track That Someone Had Placed Him On While Having His Face Turned Down Like A Cow.
33 To Put It Another Way, “Allah Had Created You Men, Not Livestock. You Weren’t Intended To Follow Every Mistake And Deviation You Saw Predominating In The World Without Pausing To Assess If What You Were Doing Was Right Or Incorrect.
You Had Not Been Given These Eyes So That You Could Follow Others Like The Blind And Not Bother To See Whether The Signs Dispersed Throughout The World Attested To The Unity Of God, Which The Messenger Of God Is Preaching, Or Whether The System Of The Universe Is Go. You Had Not Been Given These Ears So That You Could Refuse To Listen To The One Who Attempts To Distinguish The Right From The Wrong For You, And May Persist In Whatever False Notions You Already Had In Your Mind. Similarly, You Had Not Been Endowed With The Information And Intelligence Necessary For You To Cede Your Judgement To Others, Follow Every Unjust Rule Imposed By Someone In The Outside World, And Refrain From Using Your Own Intellect To Determine If It Was Right Or Wrong. You Were Given Knowledge, Understanding, Sight, And Hearing By Allah So That You May Discern The Truth, But You Are Being Unthankful To Him By Using These Talents For Purposes Other Than Those For Which They Were Intended. (For Further Information, Check E.n.’s 72 And 73 Of An Naml, E.n.’s 75 And 76 Of Al-mu’minun, E.n.’s 17, And E.n.’s 18 And 31 Of Ai-ahqaf.) The Surah Mulk
37 In Other Words, They Will Experience The Same Suffering As The Criminal Who Is Being Led To The Gallows.
38the Inhabitants Of Each Home Began Cursing The Holy Prophet (Upon Whom Be Peace) And His Companions When He Began His Mission In Makkah And The Quraish Of The Various Clans Began To Convert To Islam. They Began Performing Spells And Charms On Him In An Effort To Kill Him, Even Planning Elaborate Murder Schemes. “Say To Them: What Will It Benefit You Whether We Die Or We Survive By The Grace Of God,” Was Then Stated. How Will You Protect Yourself From Allah’s Wrath Is Something You Should Be Concerned About.
39 That Is, “We Have Believed In God, And You Are Rejecting Him; We Have Trusted Him, And You Have Trusted In Yourself, In Your Own Resources, And In False Gods Other Than Allah; Thus, Only We Deserve To Be Offered Kindness By Allah, Not You.” The Surah Mulk
40that Is, “Has Anybody Else, Save Allah, The Authority To Give You Back These Sources Of Water? If No One Else Has This Ability, And You Are Fully Aware That No One Does, Then Who Is More Deserving Of Worship: God Or Your False Deities, Who Are Powerless To Bring Them Back? Then Consider If Individuals Who Believe In One God Or Those Who Believe In Multiple Gods Are Being Deceived And Led Astray.
