Silo Series Explained, Ending, Wiki, Series Reading Order, Wool Book Summary, Review, Reddit, Silo Apple.
The Five Wool Volumes Are Compiled Into One Book In This Omnibus Edition.
In July 2011, The First Wool Tale Was Made Available As A Standalone Short. The Remainder Of The Narrative Was Published Over The Next Six Months In Response To Reviewer Demand.
This Is The Tale Of A Human Race On The Verge Of Extinction. The Outside World Has Become Cruel, And Talking About It Is Now Strictly Prohibited. However, There Will Always Be Those Who Dream And Hope. These Are The Hazardous Residents Who Spread Their Optimism To Others. Their Penalty Is Straightforward. They Are Given What They Claim To Want: Access To The Outside World.
Wool, A Top 5 Science Fiction Novel On Amazon, Was Written By Myself. I Also Authored The Molly Fyde Epic, A Story About A Young Woman From The Year 25th Who Defies All Odds And Accomplishes Things That Are Forbidden To Women.
The Joy Of Overcoming Obstacles And Refusing To Let The Universe’s Malice Alter Who You Are Is A Recurring Topic In My Writings. Since They Often Take Place In The Future, The Majority Of Them Fall Under The Category Of Science Fiction, But If You Like Engaging Narratives And Compelling Characters, You’ll Enjoy What You Discover Here. I Swear.
Robots Smaller Than Human Cells Would Eventually Be Able To Detect Illnesses, Carry Out Repairs, And Even Self-produce, According To A Platform Described By The Centre For Automation In Nanobiotech (Can) In 2007. The Cbs Network Reran A Programme Regarding Propranolol’s Impact On Those Who Have Experienced Severe Trauma The Same Year. It Had Been Found That Any Terrible Event’s Memory May Be Erased With A Single Tablet. In The Long History Of Humankind, The Methods For Its Complete Destruction Had Been Found Virtually At The Same Time. And The Capacity To Disregard What Transpired. This Is The Follow-up To The Bestselling Wool Series On The New York Times List.
Someone Has Unearthed The Truth At A Period When Life Was Built On Secrets And Falsehoods. And They Will Divulge.
Jules Is Aware Of The Works Her Forebears Produced. She Is Aware That They Are The Cause Of The Way Life Must Be Lived Now.
She Won’t Put Up With It.
But Jules Has Lost His Adherents. Beyond The Dangerous World Beyond Her Gates, There Is Much More To Be Afraid Of.
Silo 18 Is Erupting With A Toxin.

Machine Learning, A Noteworthy Collection Of Howey’s Science Fiction And Fantasy Short Stories, Is Now Available. It Contains Fifteen New Pieces That Have Never Been Collected Previously, Along With Three That Are Set In The Wool Universe. Machine New And Collected Stories Is A Compulsively Reading Collection Of Short Pieces From A Contemporary Master At The Top Of His Game. Howey’s Sharp Intellect Makes It So.
Hugh Howey’s First Book, Wool, Is A Science Fiction Story Set After The End Of The World. It Was First Released As An E-book By The Author In 2011 And Then Licenced By Simon & Schuster. Jimmy Broxton And Darwyn Cooke Contributed The Drawings For The E-book.
In The World Of The Silo, A 144-floor Subterranean Human Settlement, Wool Takes Place Hundreds Of Years After An Unidentified Incident Turned The Air Above Ground Hazardous. Cleaning Is The Consequence For Expressing The Illegal Wish To Leave The Silo. The It Department Created Outfits That Cleaners Wear To Keep Them Alive Long Enough To Clean The Cameras That Show The Occupants Within The Building The Outside World. Each Cleaner Eventually Succumbs To The Poisonous Vapours And Passes Away. The Majority Of Cleaners Promise They Won’t Finish The Cleaning, But Finally Everyone Does, Which Adds To The Mystery In The Silo.
Holston, The Silo’s Sheriff, Offers To Help Out With Cleaning As The Book Begins. His Wife Had Carried Out The Same Action Three Years Before After A Surprising Discovery On The Silo’s Servers. In Contrast To Everything He Has Been Taught, Holston Walks Outside To Clean After Being Driven Insane By Sadness And Curiosity About His Wife’s Finding. Out Of Sympathy For The Individuals Left Behind In The Little Silo, He Cleans The Cameras. But He Quickly Realises That His Helmet Is Misrepresenting Reality And That The World Is Really Poisonous. He Passes Away Close To His Wife’s Corpse.
The Mayor And Deputy Sheriff, Jahns And Marnes, Go On A Multi-day Descent To Find Juliette To Fill The Position Of Sheriff. In The “Down Deep” Of Mechanical, Juliette Works. She Grudgingly Agrees To Take On The Job Of Sheriff In Return For A Power Outage That Would Allow Her Ample Time To Fix The Generator In The Silo. Jahns Disagrees With Bernard Holland, The Chief Of It, Over Her Choice Of Juliette For The Position Of Sheriff. Because Of His Prejudice Towards Mechanics And His Rage Over The Power Vacation, Bernard Poisons Jahn’s Canteen, Killing Her. Marnes, Who Had A Crush On Jahns, Commits Himself Because Of His Sorrow.
As Sheriff, Juliette Starts Looking Into What Motivated Holston And His Wife To Clean, Clashing With Bernard, The Acting Mayor. She Also Begins A Relationship With It Worker Lukas After Meeting Him. Juliette Is Sentenced To Cleaning By Bernard After Being Taken To Mechanical. Juliette Learns, However, That It’s Cleaning Suits Are Intended To Malfunction Rather Than Keep Workers Alive While She Is In Mechanical. She Comes Up With A Scheme To Covertly Provide Better Supplies To It For The Next Cleaning Outfit. Juliette Also Becomes Aware, Just Before Leaving, That Her Helmet’s Visor Is Deceiving Her.
For The First Time In The History Of The Silo, Juliette Stops Cleaning The Cameras And Vanishes From View. She Is Able To Go A Sufficient Distance While Wearing A Cleaning Outfit That Really Protects Her To Find Another Silo That Is Identical To Her Own But Has Lost All Of Its Inhabitants Due To Internal Strife. She Finds One Survivor There At First, A Guy She Names Solo, And Then A Bunch Of Crazy Kids. She Devises A Strategy To Dig Laterally Below The Dead Silo And Link It With Her Own Silo While Repairing A Pump To Dry The Levels That Are Inundated. She Also Learns How To Use The Radio To Contact Others Back Home.
Back In The Silo, Juliette’s Unsuccessful Cleaning Generates A Commotion. As A Result Of Juliette’s Detention, Disappearance, And Admission That The Suits Are Made To Fail, The Mechanical Employees Decide To Assault It. In The Meanwhile, Lukas Is Being Trained To Take Over By Bernard As He Prepares It For The Rebellion. Mechanical Is Defeated By It And Is Forced To Return To Its Levels, Where It Boards Itself Up Behind Steel Walls. As Bernard’s Apprentice, Lukas Learns That There Are A Total Of 50 Silos And That Those Who Constructed Them Were Also Responsible For The Demise Of The Majority Of The Planet’s Inhabitants. Bernard Is Unaware That Lukas Is In Contact With Juliette, Bernard’s Adversary, In The Other Silo Through The Covert Transmitters In The Server Room.
Lukas Is Sentenced To Cleaning After He Begins To Criticise Bernard’s Execution Of Dissidents. As Soon As Juliette Learns Of The Impending Execution, She Constructs A Cleaning Suit And Leaves To Go Save Lukas. But Instead Of Going Outdoors When She Returns To Her Home Silo, Lukas Offers Himself To The Purifying Flames In The Airlock Chamber. She Recognises Bernard’s Corpse And Learns That He Was The One Who Passed Away. After Learning Juliette Was Still Alive, Her Successor Sheriff Rebelled Against Bernard. After Receiving An Overwhelming Amount Of Write-in Votes, Juliette Is Chosen As The Silo’s New Mayor. She Makes The Decision To Lead Using The Truth Rather Than Lies.
One Of My All-time Fave Novels Has To Be This One. I Read The Whole Silo-verse In A Matter Of Days Because I Really Enjoyed It. Wool, Shift, And Dust Were All Captivating Books.
Holsten, The Sheriff Of Silo 18, Asks To Leave The Building At The Beginning Of The Narrative. This Is Because Requesting To Leave The Silo Is A Capital Offence That Is Punished By Death. Furthermore, Exiting The Silo Is Actually A One-way Excursion. People Are Dispatched To Clean The Cameras With Wool Pads When They Breach The Law Or Beg To Go Outside So That Those Inside May Watch The Outside. Surprisingly, They Actually Do It And Seem To Be Glad About It, Albeit The Motivation For Doing So Isn’t Made Clear Until Later In The Novel.
The Tale Doesn’t Really Get Up Until Juliette (Jules) Is Assigned To Clean, And What She Discovers There Upends Everything She Previously Believed To Be True About Silo 18.
I Enjoyed Jules A Lot. It’s Just A Matter Of Time Until She Implements A Strategy To Ensure That Everyone In Silo 18 Is Aware Of Its Secrets Since She Is A Very Powerful Character Who Must Come To Grips With The Falsehoods She Has Been Fed.
My Fave Dystopian Book Series Is Without A Doubt The Wool Trilogy.
It Manages To Deviate From What Is So Mainstream While Yet Having Everything A Decent Dystopian Novel Should Have. We Have The Essential Damaged Universe, Full Of Mysteries We Want To Uncover And Individuals That Are Bent On Living Their Lives A Certain Manner. The Personalities Are What Really Stand Out To Me Since They Are So Well-developed Right Away. We Have Grownups Who Have Lived In The World And Are Aware Of The Need For Solutions And Change, As Opposed To A World Where Youngsters Overturn The Awful Elders.
This Dystopian Novel Is More Sophisticated Than Others, And As A Result, I Find It To Be Much More Entertaining. I Suggest This Series To Everyone Who Like Dystopia.
I Am Aware That This Popular Series Has Three Stars. I Really Enjoyed The First Half Of This Omnibus Edition, Though I’m Not Sure Where The Individual Books Begin And End. However, About Halfway To Two Thirds Of The Way Through, Things Started To Get A Little Boring For Me. This Was Especially True Of The Sections In Jules’ Sections Where The Pipes Needed To Be Fixed And The Lower Levels All Staged A Revolt. Although It Was An Excellent Book Overall, I Wouldn’t Read It Again.
I Must Have Bought All 5 Volumes From Audible As A Single Unit Since I Read The Whole Series Without Realising It. I’m Relieved That I Submitted Everything On Time Since Otherwise, I Could Have Felt Cheated. I Suppose I Now Have To Switch To Shift. The Truth Is That I’m Not Sure How I Feel About These Novels. Books Where Politicians Or Government Figures Enthusiastically Fabricate Falsehoods Or Withhold Crucial Facts From The Populace Bother Me Greatly. I Suppose It’s Too True To Life.
Hugh Howey’s First Post-apocalyptic Science Fiction Book Seems Promising On The Surface, But The Buzz Around It Functions As A Digital Representation Of The Huge Bunker Where A Complete Civilization Exists. It Takes Some Time To Realise What Is Actually There On The Page (Instead Of What The Glowing Reviews Want You To Believe): Stilted Dialogue And Characters; Film Treatment Prose; An Author-god In The George Rr Martin “Old Testament” Tradition Who Kills His Characters With Predictable Brutality (By “Doing A Ned” Ten Times); A Creaking Marxist Dialectic (The Underclass Workers Vs. The Evil Elite); An Uncomfortable Mismatch Of Technology (Powerful Computers But No The ‘anarchy-lite’ Of The Hunger Games And Its Clones Was This, And I Didn’t Appreciate How Much Of It Was Typical Old-school Nonsense (Another’rebellion-fantasy’ Dystopia, Another Piece Of Capitalist Product/worker-drone Feed, Keeping The Wheels Of The Mainstream Spinning). I May Have Read More If It Had Been Worded Properly. Instead, It Veered Into Typical Sf Action Movie Style As I Flipped The Pages, Making Me Lose Both My Wits And My Desire To Live. It Has The Impression That It Was Written More For Hollywood Than For Waterstones (In Comparison, A Book By, Let’s Say, Ursula K. Le Guin, Let’s Select Her Masterpiece, The Dispossessed, Demonstrates What Thoughtful, Expertly-crafted Science Fiction May Genuinely Be Like). It’s Not Necessary For Literature To Be This Awful, But That’s What We’re Being Sold These Days—a Poor Imitation Of The Genuine Thing. Another Author Who Wants To Eat Our Brains Is A Zombie. That Shotgun Is Missing.
