What is SBI FASTag application Form?

FASTag is an electronic toll collection system in India, operated by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The minimum recharge amount is 100 and can be done online. FASTag was implemented on the Delhi – Mumbai arm of the Quadrilateral in 2014 and rolled out to 247 toll plazas on national highways across India in 2016.

It was made mandatory on all new vehicles sold in India after December 2017. GMR Hyderabad International Airport launched FASTag Car Park facility in November and became mandatory on all National Highways from 1 December 2019. 600+ Toll Plazas are now connected with FASTag. It is a 10×5 cm, rectangle shape, multi layered tag that is pasted on the windscreen of the vehicle and reads the information at the toll plaza. It provides convenience and ease during transit and saves time, fuel and money.

Benefits of SBI FasTag Program

SBI FASTag is a prepaid toll pass that saves fuel and time by deducting toll amount automatically when the vehicle approaches the toll plaza. It also offers cashless payment, promotional cashback, faster transit, online recharge, SMS alerts, and fee charges of Rs. 100/- across all categories. The most important details are the requirements for SBI FasTag, such as KYC documentation, registration certificate of the vehicle, photo of the customer, Pan Card, Driving License, Aadhaar Card or Voter ID or passport, and how to apply online or offline. Customers can take FasTag in two categories: Limited KYC holder’s account, which has a monthly reload limit of Rs. 10,000/-, and Full KYC Holder’s account, which has a monthly reload limit of Rs. 1 Lakh.

SBI Bank FASTag: How to Apply, Fee, Recharge Online?

FASTags have been made mandatory by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to reduce traffic at toll plazas and move to a cashless toll payment system. The State Bank of India (SBI) has been certified to provide FASTags across the country. To apply for a FASTag online, one needs to open a FASTag account with the bank. To apply for a FASTag through SBI Bank, one needs to visit any of the SBI’s Point Of Sale (POS) counters set up by the bank at toll plazas. The representative at the POS location will affix the FASTag on their vehicle’s windscreen.

The SBI FASTag is a vehicle identification card issued by SBI Bank. It can be obtained through the Point of Sale (POS) or offline. Fees and charges associated with the FASTag include issuance charges, minimum-security amounts, and minimum balances. It is refundable when closing the account.

The SBI FASTag is linked to a prepaid or savings account, so Know Your Customer (KYC) documents are required. Visit the official SBI FASTag website, log in with your username and password, select the ‘Tag Recharge’ option, enter the amount for recharge and click on ‘Pay Now’, choose the payment method and click on ‘Pay Now’ after checking all the details. The SBI FASTag prepaid account can be recharged through various methods such as net banking, debit/credit card, UPI apps, and online recharge. Benefits include 2.5% cashback on transactions on National Highways Toll Plazas and a validity of 3 years.

Terms and conditions governing SBI FASTag

These Terms and Conditions are in addition to and not in derogation to any other terms as stipulated by SBI from time to time. These Terms and Conditions refer to the application made by a customer to SBI for the issuance of a FASTag, the concessionaire granted the right to construct, maintain, and toll the Highway by the National Highways Authority of India or any other competent authority in this regard, the Tag issued by SBI, the account opened in the name of the Customer and maintained by SBI for the purpose of usage of the Tag, the customer/s authorized to hold and use the Tag, the Tag Website owned, operated and maintained by SBI, the toll plaza maintained by the Concessionaire, the transaction carried out by the Customer/s as permitted by these Terms and Conditions, and the telephonic customer service facility provided by SBI 24X7 for any Tag related queries. The General Clauses Act applies to these Terms and Conditions as if incorporated herein. The Customer must agree to and accept these Terms and Conditions by submitting an Application for the Tag or performing a Transaction. The Tag issued by SBI must be affixed on the vehicle of the Customer with the vehicle number specified in the Application.

The Customer agrees to indemnify and keep SBI indemnified from and against all actions, claims, demands, proceedings, losses, damages, personal injury, costs, charges and expenses arising out of providing the Customer with the facility of the Tag. The Customer also indemnifies SBI fully against any loss on account of misplacement loss of the Tag. SBI shall be under no liability to the Customer in respect of any loss or damage arising directly or indirectly out of any defect in quality of goods or services supplied by any third party, refusal of any person to honour or accept the Tag, malfunction of any computer system, handing over of the Tag by the Customer to anybody other than the designated employees of SBI at SBI’s premises or Point of Sale (PoS), exercise of its right to demand and procure the surrender of the Tag prior to the expiry date, exercise of its right to terminate the Tag, any injury to the credit, character and reputation of the Customer alleged to have been caused by the re-possession of the Tag and/or any request for its return or refusal of any Toll Plaza to honour or accept the Tag. SBI reserves the right to decline to allow the Customer to obtain any portion of their funds due to legal action involving the Customer’s Tag. The tag is not transferable and is unique to the vehicle similar to the Vehicle Registered Number (VRN).
