I’ve Read Jonathan Cahn Previously (The Harbinger), But I Wouldn’t Say I’ve Looked For His Works On Purpose. This Most Recent One Was Highly Recommended By A Men’s Group I Attend Every Tuesday. It’s Hardly Surprising That This Book Touched A Chord Since All Of These Guys Are Retired, In Love With Jesus, And Constantly Lament The State Of Our Civilization.

In A Nutshell, This Book Explains How The United States Replaced The One True God After Expelling Him From Schools And Public Life In The 1960s With Three Pagan Gods (Baal, Ishtar, And Molech), Each Of Whom Has Wreaked Havoc On Our Society And Morals.

52 Chapters By Cahn Delve Deeply Into The “Old Riddles” That Have Dominated News Headlines In America For The Last 60 Years. Thankfully, This Book Is A Warning Rather Than A Prophesy In The Traditional Sense; Otherwise, I Would Have Thrown It Out. While I Don’t Know Cahn’s History Or Beliefs, I Was Leery Since He Wrote A Whole Book On Demons. And I Stayed Like Way While I Read The Book.

To A Question, Cahn Is A Fascinating Author Who Has The Ability To Herd His Readers Along Like Sheep, But For What Reason? What’s Up With This Obsession With “Old Mysteries”? Why Learn The Names Of All The Goddesses And Their Subordinates From Ancient Legendary Literature? Is There Truly Something Behind The Many Coincidences He Lists, Or Are They Merely A Spiritual Interpretation Of Lincoln-kennedy Coincidences Once Again (As In The Harbinger)?

Very Intriguing Are The First Few Chapters That Detail The Three Devils, Their History, And Potential Impact On Contemporary Society. I Can’t Even Count How Many Times I’ve Recently Told My Wife Outright, “Our Culture Stinks!” The Deification Of The Lgbtq+ Lifestyle And Community, Which Is Pervasively Imposed In Our Households, Is Just One Aspect Of The Problem. It’s Also The Subtler Wackiness, Like Our Newfound Inability To Define “Woman” As A Society (A Fascist Fad Which Lasted Whole Year Until Roe V. Wade Was Overturned, And Women Suddenly Got Their Gender Back). Truth Hasn’t Changed, But Holy Crap, Is It Under Siege, And With Blatant Bullshit To Boot!

So Yes, These Opening Chapters Really Captured My Attention And Helped Me Make A Lot Of Sense Of Things. The Demonic Leaders Who Are Behind The Spiritual Depravity That Has Long Pervaded Our Society May Very Well Have Names (Although I Wouldn’t Go As Far As Cahn And Identify Them—see Jude 8–10 For More Information). I Think That Demons Are Real, That They Can Oppress People, And That They Can Even Take Over A Nonbeliever’s Heart. Yet, Those Of Us Who Have Received The Holy Spirit Of God’s Indwelling Do Not Have Any Space In Our Hearts For Such An Invasion. When It Comes To Spiritual Warfare, We Are Asked To Do One Thing—protect Ourselves And Stand In Defence With Truth—even If We Undoubtedly Need To Be Aware Of Their Influence (See Eph. 6:10-20). I Highly Suggest Dr. Greg Mazak’s Brief Lecture On This Text And The Distinction Between “Deliverance” And “Discipleship” For Further Reading.

Although I Truly Loved This Book’s Initial Background Chapters, Cahn Completely Lost Me When He Described The Stonewall Riots In New York City As Ishtar’s Entry Point Into America And Her Possession. His Tactics For Finding The Coincidences Were Cunning; He Would Emphasise Significant Historical Events (Such As The Lion’s Head Symbolism For Ishtar) And Then Find How They Related To Contemporary Tales (Such As How A Club Two Doors Away Just So Happened To Be Called “The Lion’s Head”). It Almost Resembles The Conduct Of A Charlatan To Devote So Many Pages To Coincidences And To Develop His Answers In This Manner.
