Hang The Moon: A Novel Book By Alexandria Bellefleur PDF Free Download, Overview, Summary, Reviews, Get Book, Quotes, More By Author.
Alexandria Bellefleur Delivers Another Gay Rom-com About A Hopeless Romantic Who Vows To Prove His Childhood Love That Romance Isn’t Dead By Recreating Famous Dates From His Favorite Films In A Charming Follow-up To Written In The Stars. ..
Brendan Lowell Is A Lover Of Love. It’s Why He Developed A Dating App To Assist People In Finding Their One True Pairing, And Why He’s Certain “The One” Is Out There, Even If He Hasn’t Met Her Yet. Has He, Or Has He Not? When His Sister’s Best Friend Unexpectedly Shows Up In Seattle, Brendon Jumps At The Chance To Hang Out With Her.
He’s Had A Crush On Annie Since They Were Kids, And The Stars Have Finally Aligned, Bringing Them Together In The Same City At The Same Time. Annie Planned A Last-minute Trip To Seattle To See Friends Before Moving Across The Globe. She Has No Desire To Fall In Love, Especially With Her Best Friend’s Brother. Annie Recalls Brendon As A Kind, Nerdy Young Man.
Except For The Fact That The 6-foot-4 Man Who Arrives At Her Door Is A Certified Hot Nerd, And Annie… Wants Him? Oh Yeah. Getting Involved Would Be A Bad Idea—her Stay Is Temporary, And He Wants To Be With Her Forever—but When Brendon Discovers Annie Has Given Up On Dating,
He Is Determined To Prove That Romance Exists. Brendon Intends To Wow Her With Elaborate Dates Straight Out Of Nora Ephron’s Playbook, Taking Cues From His Favourite Rom-coms.
Brendon Is Starting To Realise That Romance Isn’t Only Flowers And Chocolate As The Clock Strikes Annie’s Time In Seattle. But Maybe Real Love Doesn’t Have To Be As Perfect As It Seems In The Movies… As Long As You Believe Your Partner Has Hung The Moon.
Alexandria Bellefleur Is The Lambda Literary Award-winning And New York Times Bestselling Author Of Swoony Contemporary Romance, Often Starring Loveable Grumpy Characters And The Sunny Characters Who Bring Them To Their Knees.
Alexandria Is A Pacific Northwesterner At Heart, With A Penchant For Decent Coffee, Pike Ipa, And Voodoo Doughnuts.
Her Unique Abilities Include Locating The Greatest Pad Thai In Each Place She Goes, Remembering Faces But Not Names, Falling Asleep In Movie Theatres, And Remaining Calm When Reading Smutty Literature In Public. She Was A Nominee For The Golden Heart Award From The Romance Writers Of America In 2018.
“I Don’t Think You Have Anything To Be Concerned About, Since That Guy? ” She Leaned Forward, Whispered. “He Stares At You As If You Just Hoisted The Moon.”
I Was Delighted To Read And Appreciate Brendon And Annie’s Tale In This Book After Reading And Liking Written In The Stars! The Notion Seemed Adorable, And I Loved The Cover. Hang The Moon Is A Love Story Between A Hopeless Romantic And Someone Who Is Afraid To Fall In Love.
Brendon Has Spent His Whole Life Hunting For Love; He’s Even Established A Lucrative Dating Service For Those Looking For Their One True Love. Meanwhile, His Sister’s Closest Friend, Annie, Arrives To Town On Holiday To See Darcy. As She Confides In Brendon About Her Worries About Love, He Makes It His Particular Goal To Prove To Her That Romance Can Be Genuine.
This Novel Is Set In Seattle, With Brendon Acting As A Tour Guide And Showing Annie About The City. It Was Intriguing To Read About The Sites They Visited; I Love It When A Book Incorporates A Setting Into The Tale!
The Characters Were Fantastic! Since This Is A Companion Story, We Meet The Characters From The Previous Book (Darcy, Elle, And Margot) Often, In Addition To Brendon And Annie. Brendon Is A Hopeless Romantic, But Not To The Point Of Being Foolish; Annie, On The Other Hand, Is Sceptical About Love, But Not To The Point Where She And Brendon Are Diametrically Opposed. Darcy Links Brendon And Annie, And I Enjoyed Witnessing Her Interactions With Her Brother And Best Friend, As Well As How She Helps Both Characters Understand What They Desire.
The Romance Was Fantastic. Annie’s Closest Friend’s Brother Is Brendon, And They’ve Known Each Other For Years. He Had A Thing On Her For A Long Time, But I Appreciated How, Even Though They Haven’t Seen Each Other In Eight Years, He Isn’t Hung Up On Her Or Has This Preconceived Notion Of Who She Is. Since Annie Is Leaving For London In Two Weeks, This Novel Also Has A Time Constraint. Normally, I Loathe Novels That Move A Relationship Forward So Quickly, But This One Respects This. In Fact, Annie’s Main Concern About Their Relationship Is The Small Time Interval Since She Knows She’s Not The Sort Of Girl To Relocate Cross-country On A Whim.
If You Haven’t Read Written In The Stars, You Won’t Be Puzzled By This Book. It Does, However, Serve To Develop The Characters In This Novel! Darcy, For Example, Is A Lesbian, While Elle And Annie Are Both Bisexual.
Hang The Moon Was A Beautiful Romance With Protagonists That Drew You In Right Away. I Enjoyed Revisiting This Cast Of Folks. Hang The Moon Is A Lovely Romance That I Believe You’ll Like!
Prohibition Conjures Us Memories Of Criminals In Three-piece Suits, Ford Model T Vehicles, Jazz Music Screaming In Glitzy Speakeasies, And Al Capone. It’s An Enthralling Era In American History For Fans Of Tales About The Exchange Of Sex, Money, And Power Between The Haves And The Have-nots.
That’s Why, Throughout Its Hbo Run, Boardwalk Empire Won 64 Accolades.
Prohibition, Which Was First Sponsored By Religious Organisations, Prohibited The Manufacture, Transportation, And Sale Of Spirits, Which Was Seen As Sinful And Ungodly And Hence Needed To Be Removed. Prohibition Was Difficult To Enforce For Both Federal And Local Governments. Many Lost Their Employment When Factories And Other Enterprises That Created Or Sold Spirits Closed, And The Quality Of Living For Many Middle- And Lower-class People Fell Even Worse. Even Though Some People Supported Prohibition, These Laws Disproportionately Affected Rural Communities.
This Is The Setting For Jeannette Walls’ Brilliant And Effervescent New Novel Hang The Moon. Claiborne County Is Located In Rural Virginia. 1920s. This Car-chasing, Shootout-filled Thriller Chronicles The Ascent Of Sallie Kincaid, A Feisty Heroine With Enough Heart And Grit To Carry Her Family Company And Her Country On Her Back If Given The Opportunity. Walls’ Page-turner Is Loaded With Drama, Touching On A Tense Dispute Over Family Business Succession, Racial Tension In An Impoverished Rural County, Family Secrets, And Land Conflict, All With The Prohibition War Hanging In The Background.
The Tale Opens Nine Years After Sallie Was Expelled From The Family Home By Her Father, Duke Kincaid, At The Request Of His Wife Jane, For Harming Her Younger Brother Eddie, Jane’s Only Son. After Jane Dies, The Duke Returns Sallie To Claiborne County To Care For The Shy, Oversensitive Eddie. Sallie, 17, Is Determined To Carve Out A Place For Herself In Her Family’s Business, Kincaid Holdings, Which Includes Real Estate, Timber Mills, A Haulage Firm, The Emporium Store, And Bootlegging. She Longs For Her Father’s Approval And Trust; She Wants To Be Viewed As Capable Of Handling The Rigours Of Leadership Despite Her Gender.
Sallie Can Spin Words As Well As The Duke, And She Convinces Him To Recruit Her As His Wheelman, A Perilous Job In Which She Collects Rent And Conducts Errands For Him. According To The Duke, This Is A Man’s Job. Sallie Has Taken One Little Step Forward, But The Kincaid Line Of Succession Calls For Males To Dominate.
During The Prohibition Period, The Temperance Movement, Led By Religious Women, Was Instrumental In Seeking To Enforce The Laws. They Were Staunch Supporters Of Prohibition Because They Considered Alcohol As Harmful To Families And Marriages. As Wal’s Narrative Continues, There Is A Lot Of Conflict Between The Business’s Prosperity And Those In Authority Who Favour The Temperance Movement.
Sallie’s Defining Moment In The Novel Is When She Defines What Morality Means To Her Rather Than Waiting For Others To Decide What Is Moral For Her Country.
The Most Enjoyable Aspect Of This Story Is Walls’ Great Development Of The Key Female Characters. Each Of Them Portrays A Different Kind Of Woman Striving For Her Position In A Male-dominated Society. Mattie Is Clever And Business-savvy, And She Is Dissatisfied With Her Status As A Sheriff’s Wife, But She Recognises Her Duty And Stays Steady — Despite Her Regular Complaints About Being Neglected. The Duke’s Sister Mary Might Be Plucked From The Pages Of Tudor History. Mary Tudor, Popularly Known As Bloody Mary, Is Devout, Passionately Devoted To Her Husband, Religious, And Misguidedly Brutal. Sallie Resembles A Few Female Bootleggers In History, Refusing To Allow Her Gender Restrict Her Ambitions. Sallie, Unlike Her Aunt And Sister, Refuses To Have A Man At Her Side And Rewrites The Rules As She Goes.
