A Little While Later, Freak Makes An Appearance And Pours Sulfuric Acid Into Kenny’s Eyes With A Squirt Gun. The Police Capture Kenny And Rescue Loretta As Max And Freak Escape. The Spray Gun, Which Was Really Packed With Soap, Vinegar, And Curry Powder, Worked, Causing Freak To Chuckle. Freak Shouts, “Freak The Mighty Strikes Again! A Child Named Max Who Is In Eighth Grade And Has A Learning Handicap Wrote The First-person Narrative Novel Titled Freak The Mighty. While His Precise Impairment Is Not Made Apparent In The Novel, It Is Obvious That He Has Long Attended The “Ld Class” And Suffers With Reading. Kevin, A Little Child Who Just Moved In Across The Street And Has A Physical Impairment, Is Incredibly Brilliant. He And Max Are Of The Same Age. During The Course Of The Novel, These Two Boys Grow To Be Close Friends And Take On The Moniker “Freak The Mighty,” Helping One Other With Their Own Infirmities And Overcoming A Variety Of Challenges. Max Often Carries Kevin On His Shoulders So That He Can See And Move About. Max Receives Academic Assistance From Kevin, And Max Finally Enrols In The Normal Education Class Full-time. Together, “Freak The Mighty” Go On A Lot Of Thrilling Adventures And Support One Another Through A Lot Of Challenges.
The Difficulties That Students With Impairments May Encounter Are Well-explained In This Book. In This Novel, Individuals In Society And At School Make Fun Of And Insult The Pupils Because Of Their Handicap. Many Kids With Impairments Deal With This Issue. While Max Can’t Read Very Well, It Is Written From His Perspective And Demonstrates That He Knows And Understands A Lot More Than Others Give Him Credit For. This Book Does An Excellent Job Of Demonstrating Why This Is Incorrect, Even If It Depicts How The Children Are Treated With Contempt. I Believe That Many Pupils, Both Those Who Have Impairments And Those Who Do Not, May Connect To This Book.
I Believe That There Are A Few Various Ways That I Might Utilise This Book In My Classroom. I Am A Learning Assistance Teacher For The Seventh Grade. This Book Would Be A Fantastic Read-aloud In My Classroom, As Well As A Fantastic Book For The Kids To Read On Their Own, In My Opinion. That Is A Captivating Novel That Is Difficult To Put Down. I Believe The Kids Would Like Hearing About This Book. First-person Narration Is Used Throughout The Work. It Is A Novel That Is Enjoyable To Read. I Would Ask The Pupils To Compare Their School Experiences To Those Of The Characters Once They Had Read Or Heard The Novel. The Eighth Grade Is A Tremendously Exciting Year For The Guys In This Novel. It Also Demonstrates How Many Pupils Who Have Both Literacy And Physical Problems May Be Dismissed. Despite The Fact That I Don’t Always Agree With How These Pupils Are Handled In The Book, I Think It Does A Wonderful Job Of Illustrating How Disrespectful That Can Be. Then We Can Talk About What The School Can Do To Improve The Atmosphere For All Children.
Freak The Mighty Is A Highly Potent Book That Imparts Many Valuable Lessons To All Of Us. Friends Kevin And Max, Also Known As Freak The Mighty, Are The Subject Of The Novel. Despite Their Differences, The Primary Protagonists Are Still Extremely Good Friends. It Is One Major Aspect Of The Novel That I Truly Enjoyed. The Reader Was Effectively Shown That Friends Come In A Wide Variety Of Sizes, Intelligences, Forms, And Colours. The Characteristics Of A Friend And How They Treat You And Other People Are What Matter Most. Max (Mighty) Was Sluggish And Large, While Freak (Kevin) Was Very Intelligent And Sickly. Despite Their Differences, Though, The Two Were Incredibly Good Friends.
Max Wasn’t Awful Like His Father, Which I Thought Was Another Plus. This Demonstrates That You May Choose To Be Whatever You Want To Be Despite Having A Dysfunctional Family Or Several Problems In Your Life. The Line “It’s More Than Just The Way Maxwell Resembles Him, Grim Says That Night In The Kitchen, The Boy Is Like Him, We’d Better Watch Out, You Never Know What He Might Do While We’re Sleeping” (Pages 3–4, Paragraphs 5 And 1) Is A Good Example Of How Your Past Can Harm Who You Are. However, Max’s Grandmother Really Explains That Our Past Or Our Family Situation Can’t Make Us Who We Are When She Says “And Gram Right Away I Loved That Freak Wasn’t Afraid To Be Himself Or To Speak Intelligently. Although Being Quite Ill, Freak Still Attempting To Play Since He Had No Fear Of Anything. He Did Not Allow His Illness To Hinder Him. I Learned From Freak To Keep Going Despite Having Difficulties.
The Fact That The Book’s Words Weren’t Very Lengthy Or Difficult Was Another Aspect I Enjoyed. The Chapters Were About Five To Seven Pages Long, Which Was Not Very Lengthy. From Young Toddlers To Older Adolescents, This Book Is Suitable For All Age Groups. Everybody Can Identify To The Characters, And It Was A Quick And Simple Book To Read. Anybody May Learn A Lot From The Book Since It Wasn’t Fabricated Or Made Up. A Phrase That I Particularly Enjoyed That Demonstrates How Entertaining And Humorous The Book Is And How Anybody Can Enjoy It Is Found On Pages 39–40. I Would Advise Everyone To Read This Book, Particularly Children My Age From 10 And Above. The Quotation States “We’re Freak The Mighty, That’s Who We Are. We’re Nine Feet Tall, In Case You Hadn’t Noticed.”
Bullying, Dying, Grieving, Coping With Illness And Disabilities, Self-esteem, Friendship, Behaviour And Learning Disorders, And Other Social Issues And Themes
Max And Kevin Become Friends The Summer Before Eighth Grade, Pushing Both Boys Out Of Their Comfort Zones. A Bigger Boy Named Max Struggles With Learning. He Also Has A Non-traditional Violent Family Background, Which Contributes To His Low Self-esteem And Frequent Fighting. Though Kevin, A Young Child With Morquio Syndrome, Is Very Bright And Has A Vivid Imagination. Kevin Uses Crutches To Walk And Wears Leg Braces As A Result Of His Syndrome.
When Kevin First Sees Max, Max Was Outside Playing With Kevin’s Robotic Bird. Max Assists Kevin In Recovering The Bird When It Becomes Stuck In A Tree. They Go Together To The Fourth Of July Fireworks Display After Helping Kevin Find The Bird. They Encounter Their First Adventure On This Day As They Flee From Bullies Who Are Trying To Terrorise Max. Owing To Kevin’s Quick Thinking And His Assisting Max In Navigating The Situation, The Boys Were Able To Escape Danger.
Max Takes Kevin To The Fourth Of July Celebration And Carries Him On His Shoulders So He Can See The Fireworks. This Indicates That The Boys Can Protect Each Other From The Ills That Society Inflicts On Them.
The Boys Are In The Same Class Now That School Has Begun. Kevin Supports Max In His Efforts To Improve As A Reader And Offers Encouragement. In Exchange, Max Is Able To Assist Kevin In Getting To And From Adventures And Tasks Around The Neighbourhood That He Physically Couldn’t Do On His Own. The Guys Find Calm Together Despite Their Busy Circumstances. For Boys Who Have Been Diagnosed With Emotional Disturbance, The Boys Supporting One Other Provides A Wonderful Connection And Thought Starter.
Important Discussions In The Classroom May Centre On Kevin’s Physical Condition, The Fact That Max’s Father Is Incarcerated, And How It Feels To Lose A Friend Or Loved One. Pupils That Are Taught In An Urban Environment Will Have Connections To, Thoughts On, And Stances Towards Freak The Mighty’s Themes.
Kevin Dies In The End. Max Becomes Very Angry And Depressed As A Result Of This. But, Max Is Able To Recall The Adventures The Boys Had Together, Which Leads To The Formation Of Freak The Mighty. This Book Promotes Discussion Of Adolescent Deaths, Odd Friendships, Broken Families, And Learning Disabilities. The Whole Book Centres On Two Boys Who Become Friends As A Result Of Having Disabilities; This Might Be Difficult Since It Could Imply That People With Disabilities Have Difficulty Making Friends.
