El Libro De Nod PDF Free Download, The Book Of Nod Book By Andrew Greenberg And Sam Chupp PDF Free Download.
The Book Of Nod Is Made Up Of Several Fragments And Recensions That Have Been Put Back Together By Numerous Similar Scholars, Including Aristotle Delaurent, Beckett, And Sascha Vykos. The Chapbook Published By An Unknown Georgia Publishing House Is One Example Of An Attempt To Combine These Texts Into One Book. However, In Accordance With Tradition, Caine’s Narrative Is Mostly Passed Down Orally (Via Sabbat Rituals Or Storytelling Among The Dead), While The Texts Containing The Key Details Of Cainite History Are Closely Guarded In Order To Preserve The Cainites’ Identity. The Texts And Notes That Have Been Passed Down Through The Ages Should Be Treated With Great Caution, Regardless Of One’s Own Personal Beliefs, It Must Be Mentioned.
There Are Many Unanswered Questions About The Book Of Nod’s History. Although Malkav, Saulot, And Even Caine Are Sometimes Cited As Having Written Portions Of It, If Not The Whole Thing, Its Author Is Unknown. But Because The Events It Describes Occurred Thousands Of Years Ago, It May Have Had Several Authors And Editors, Raising Serious Questions About Its Veracity.
Some People Believe That The Whole Book Is Made Up Of Myths And Lies, A Tale That Vampires Created To Justify Their Existence Or A Device Used To Deceive People Into Thinking And Behaving A Certain Way. The Fact That Many Writings Attributed To The Book Of Nod Are Very Ambiguous Or Contradictory, Sometimes Seeming To Be Outright Misdirection, And Creates Some Significant (And Even Violent) Schisms Of Interpretation Within Noddist Groups Only Serves To Reinforce These Doubts. The Oldest Part Of The Book Dates To Around 4500 Bce, Just Before The Sumerian Era. [4]
The Camarilla Has A Policy Of Condemning Noddist Lore And Pursuing Those Responsible For Its Dissemination. Any Fragments Of The Book Of Nod Or Other Similar Texts That Are Discovered Are Either Destroyed Or Covertly Stored Away For The Sect’s Leaders To Study. Nevertheless, Many Kindred Are Still Looking For The Book Of Nod Because They Think It Contains Future Predictions And Information About Vampire Nature.
The “Cycle Of Lilith,” A Fabled “Lost Book” Of The Book Of Nod, Is Really Its Own Narrative And Collection Of Documents, Most Recently Compiled In The Revelations Of The Dark Mother. Despite Being Connected To The Book Of Nod, The Cycle Of Lilith Narrative Is Not A Part Of The Book Of Nod Any More Than The Book Of Nod Is A Part Of The Mortal Bible.
The First Of Times, The Coming Of Lilith, Lilith’s Magick, The Temptation Of Caine, Zillah’s Tale, The Tale Of The Crone, And The Tale Of The First City Are The Fragments That Make Up The Chronicle Of Caine. Despite The Fact That Caine Is The “Cain” Mentioned In The Book Of Genesis, These Tales Should Not Be Compared To The Canonical Bible. Caine Explains In His Own Words The Reasons For His Curse, His Own Opinions On The Events That Surrounded The Days After The Fall Of Man, And His Background As The Dark Father. [6]
Caine Expresses Being Alone For Aeons In The Tale Of The First City. He Looks For A City Where The “Children Of Seth” Live In Order To Be Among People Again. They Recognise Him As King, And He Reigns For A While, Feeling Once More Alone In His Position Of Power. Enoch, A Young Man, Asks To Be Caine’s Son. Caine Embraces Enoch, His First Child, Despite Uriel’s Advice Against Having Children. Then Caine Declares That This First City Will Be Called The City Of Enoch.
Then, His Newborn Enoch Begs For Like-minded Companions. Caine Accepts And Embraces Irad And Zillah. They Then Produce More Offspring. Caine Orders That No More Children Be Produced Out Of Concern That His Curse Would Spread.
They Comply, And The City Flourishes For Centuries, Growing Into A Vast Empire. Then The Flood Arrived And Wiped Out The Whole “Children Of Seth” As Well As Enoch’s City. Caine Vanished Because He Was So Upset. When His Surviving Children And Grandchildren Found Him, Caine Told Them To Go After They Had Searched For Him.
Thirteen Antediluvian People Who Were Left To Fend For Themselves Eventually Started A Great War In Which They “Killed” Enoch, Irad, And Zillah. When Caine Learned What Had Happened, He Went In Search Of The Ancient People. They Had Created A New City Called The Second City And Had Rebuilt It From Scratch. The Dark Father Caine, Who Was Unknown To The Ancient People, Cursed His Descendants With The Unique Flaws Of Each Clan. The City Eventually Becomes A Perpetual State Of War, Perishes, And The Kin Disperse. The Story Ends With A Prophecy Of The Last City, Gehenna.
It Is Debatable If The Chronicle Of Shadows Really Belong In The Book Of Nod. They Are A Collection Of Fragments And Pieces. Some Scholars Assert That This Section Had Been Diluted By Carthaginian Scholars And Writers Who Used Poetic Licence To Record “Caine’s Laws.” Even That The Chronicle Of Shadows Is Really A Compilation Of Propaganda Produced By The Camarilla To Support Its Tyrannical Rule Has Been Asserted. While Some Think This Is A Sophisticated Malkavian Joke, Others Think These Texts, Particularly The 13 Commandments That Were Given On Real, Ancient Tablets, Came Directly From The Dark Father. [7]
The Secrets Chronicle Is The Shortest Of The Three Chronicle Collections. It Includes Prophecies And Visions Of The Dread Gehenna Event. Some Believe That The Anxieties Surrounding This Incident Have Been Passed Down Through The Generations, Causing A Wave Of Paranoia And Fear To Continue To Reverberate Among The Cainites And The Canaille. [8] The Camarilla Prefers To Watch These Texts Burn.
Studying And Researching The Book Of Nod Is Known As Noddism In The World Of Darkness, And Those Who Practise It Are Known As Noddists. Officially, The Camarilla Rejects The Existence Of The Ancients, Believing That They Have Long Since Gone Extinct And That Noddist Lore Is Being Hunted And Destroyed By Its Archons. Unofficially, Many Camarilla Elders Prepare For And Fear The Coming Of The Apocalypse. The Sabbat, On The Other Hand, Views Itself As An Army Positioned Against The Antediluvians And Actively Seeks Noddist Lore In An Effort To Prevent Their Return.
Though Parts Of The Book Have Been Translated Into Many Languages, A Complete Version Of The Book Remains Unknown. Fragments Are Widely Dispersed And Well-guarded Since The Secrets They Hold Might Reveal Information About The History And Fate Of The Kindred. Finding A Complete Copy Of The Book Of Nod Is Like Finding The Holy Grail Or The Rosetta Stone.
Sam Chupp And Andrew Greenberg’s The Book Of Nod Was First Released In Softcover In 1993. A Deluxe Hardcover Edition Followed In 1997. (Silver Page Edging, A Built-in Bookmark, That Sort Of Thing). In October 2021, Renegade Will Release A Reprint Of The Hardcover (They Hope). Although There Are Some Physical Differences In The Printings, The Content Of The Renegade Version Is The Same (Apart From The Credits).
Minor Details Like Whether The Bookmark Ribbon Is Black Or Red Are Included Here. The Spine Just Lists The Title And No Longer Refers To White Wolf Or The “Ww” Product Number (For Obvious Reasons). But The Renegade Printing’s Slightly Larger Size Is The Most Notable Difference. When Comparing The Two, You Can See That Some Of The Original Graphics And Artwork Have Actually Had Portions Removed. Similar To How The Old White Wolf Version Was A Little Too Short And The Renegade Version Was The “Proper” Size.
The White Wolf Version Did Not Use Glossy Paper, Although The Renegade Printing Did. In Some Sense, The Renegade Paper Is Perhaps “Fancier.” But Because Of The Dark Subject Matter, I Liked The Non-glossy Paper More. The Book Has A Lot Of Art, All Of It Is In Black And White. On Some Of The Pages Where There Is A Lot Of Black, However, The “Shiny” Of The Paper In The Most Recent Printing Somewhat Detracts From The Art. Because Of This, A Few Pages Seem Much Lighter In Tone.
The Founding Mythology Of Vampires As The Offspring Of The Third Mortal And First Murderer, Caine, Of Caine’s Creation Of Other Vampires, And The Origins Of The Antediluvians Who Would Found The 13 Vampire Clans Were Laid Out In A Definitive Way In The Book Of Nod, From An In-character Perspective Mostly Written By Aristotle De Laurent And Fan Favourite Beckett.
Or, As Definitive As You Can Get In A Game Line Where Rarely Is There Absolute Truth, Everything Written In Character Is Fallible, Lots Of Books (Including This One) Are Internally Inconsistent, And They’ve Had To Update The End Times Mythology To Account For The Fact That The Game Is Still Being Published. That Makes Up Around Half Of The Book; The Other Two Main Sections Include A Collection Of Quotes From Caine Or Other Founding Members Of The Clan And A Prophecy About Gehenna.
The Chronicle Of Caine Then Comes First And Foremost In The Book Of Nod, Outlining That Creation Mythology. It Is, In My Opinion, The Most Crucial Section Of The Book. And I Believe It To Be The Best. It Is Written In A “Biblical” And Poetic Style, Beginning With Cain And Abel And Using Repetition And Rhythm To Go From One Point In Their Story To The Next.
I Daydream About The First Times, I Talk About The First Times… I Sing My First Songs. Both Cain And Abel Want To Please God, But Because Abel Tends To The Animals And Cain Tends To The Plants, God Is More Pleased When Abel Spills The Blood Of His Sacrifices.
