   The Crave series is a great series for older teens and young adults, with well-developed characters and plot twists.    The Crave series started out strong and intriguing, but has gone downhill since book one. The writing style is elementary and the characters are not up to par. Hudson’s self-deprecating attitude and sidekick manner in this book made me reluctant to like him. Grace is the least favorite main character of all time.

   The author of this book tries to use pop culture references that don’t fit well with the story. The random use of a “they/their” character and the Jaxon/Flint relationship are unnecessary and cause confusion. The Jaxon/Flint relationship doesn’t make sense and there are mistakes in the book. The author should get fresh ideas and an editor to improve the book.

   Grace and the narrator are both terrified of their future together, but not for the same reasons. Grace looks beautiful and defenseless, but the narrator is scared of losing her and taking the light with her. The narrator asks Grace to get a drink, but she refuses. The narrator is in constant fear of losing Grace and taking the light with her. The narrator is waiting for Flint to be able to keep his leg in the infirmary.

   Grace is staring at her phone, and the narrator is in desperate need of a shower. The narrator decides to listen to Nina Simone and take the fastest shower on record to wash away the blood, gore, and death they need to wash away.

   The narrator is afraid to let Grace out of their sight due to their irrational fear that she will realize she made a mistake in choosing them. To pull her out of her own head, the narrator teases her with their favorite movie line and pulls her onto their lap. The narrator remembers the promise they made to bring her breakfast in bed for the rest of her life and the narrator realizes they have figured out the promise. Grace is a brat in the mornings, and the narrator is surprised to see her smile again. She fake punches the narrator in the shoulder, pretending to ponder alternatives. The narrator is on fire, but Grace is not ready to hear what the narrator promised before she would ever love them back. Hudson kisses Grace, but she stiffens and tears fill her eyes. He apologizes, but she bites her lip. He pulls her back into his arms and tells her that Lucas died for nothing, Flint’s leg, Jaxon’s heart, and everything else was all for nothing. He pulls her back into his arms and realizes he has no choice but to surrender to his fate, which could destroy them all.

Sometimes Two Rights Make One Very Big Wrong

   The narrator is in shock after they found Katmere ransacked and Flint’s leg couldn’t be saved. They are still reeling from the devastation of it all, and no one has any clue what to do. Byron pulls a phone from his pocket and tells Marise that if he’s not sealed in a crypt by then, he will disintegrate. Luca’s parents deserve the chance to say goodbye, but they can’t afford it.

   Macy, Hudson, Jaxon, Macy, and Jaxon agree to call Luca’s parents now, or else there won’t be anything left of him. Byron stops scrolling on his phone and steps away, and I can’t help but shiver.

The narrator reassures Hudson that it’s not his fault, but he focuses on Flint and throws his arms wide in disbelief. Flint then uses crutches and shuffles out without saying anything. The narrator pulls Hudson back into their arms and listens to his heartbeat, but when they open their eyes, they recognize Cyrus’s real victory. They are divided, which means they are completely screwed.

Review

   This book was hard to put down due to its 700 pages and parts that were more filler than substance. Grace needs an army to fight off monsters, vampires, gargoyles, and Gods, and Macy is the one that really threw me off. Tracy Wolff’s “Court” is the fourth and newest release in Crave, a popular Young Adult series. Grace Foster is orphaned and moves in with her uncle, the headmaster, to attend the school.    The 4^th installment of Tracy Wolff’s YA fantasy series “Court” is darker and more serious than the previous books, with topics like death, war and gore being explored in detail. It has constant plot twists and keeps the reader intrigued and wanting more from the storyline and the characters. Foster’s romance evolves and many of the questions from book one, “Crave,” are finally explored and answered. This series is a fun read that will keep the reader on their toes and leave them wanting more.

   Tracey Wolff’s Hudson/Grace series has four editions, each with its own bonus content. The dragon edition has two bonus stories, one about Nuri, Flint’s mom, and the other from Flint’s point of view. I bought the dragon edition and enjoyed the two bonus stories. I will look for the other editions and read their bonus content. Court is a long and draggy book, but it is still enjoyable.    Grace learns more about herself and her abilities, the Gargoyles, and their purpose in the world. There is a lot of action and swoony scenes between Hudson and Grace. All of the familiar characters are back, including Flint, Jaxon, Macy, Remy, Calder, Jikan, Dawud, and Isadora. New characters include Jikan, the God of Time, Dawud, and Isadora.
