Cora Reilly, Usa Today Bestselling Author, Has Released A New Standalone Forbidden Mafia Romance! What If You Meet Your Soulmate At An Inconvenient Time?
Amo Do You Think It’s Possible To Fall In Love At First Sight? In A Love So Powerful And Beautiful That It Enlightens You Even In Your Darkest Hours? Do You Think There’s Someone Out There Someplace Who’s Meant To Be Your Other Half? Who Is Your Soulmate? No, I Didn’t. That Is, Until I Met Her. Falcone, Greta She’s Banned To Me Since I Saved A Mafia Princess From The Madmen Of Las Vegas.
Greta All I Needed Was My Love For My Family And My Animals. I Never Expected To Fall In Love. Until I Met Him, That Is. I Adore Vitiello. Capo Della Famiglia In The Making. Cruel And Icy. The Smiles He Alone Has For Me Calm The Tumult In My Thoughts. What If You Meet Your Soulmate At An Inconvenient Time? I Had Known Some Of The Cruellest Persons, But Nothing Could Ever Be Crueller Than Destiny Itself.
I Write Romance And New Adult Fiction. I Like Nice Cuisine, Wine, And Reading, And I’m Hopelessly Hooked To Terrible Dudes (In Books).
After The Last 5-6 Cora Books Were A Complete Disaster, I May Have Gotten A Little Carried Away With My Rating After Just Finishing The Book. Regardless, I’m Pleased To Say That She Delivered With Amogreta And That This Is One Of Her Greatest Works In Years.
Take My Rating With A Grain Of Salt Because I Adore Amogreta And No One Can Ever Make Me Dislike Them. This Novel Caters To One Of The Most Despised Romantic Tropes: Insta Love. Amogreta, On The Other Hand, Made Love At First Sight Their Bitch.
I’ve Been Anticipating Their Book Since It Was Announced That Amo And Greta Were A Thing, And Let Me Tell You, This Couple Served The Angsty, Forbidden Romeo & Juliet Style Of Romance. I’m Not Sure Whether Somebody Unfamiliar With Cora’s Mafia Universe Would Like This Book As Much, But If You’ve Read Parts Of Cora’s Series, You’ll Enjoy How Two Mafia Worlds Merge.
All I Needed Was My Love For My Family And My Animals. I Never Expected To Fall In Love. Until I Met Him, That Is.
I Adore Vitiello. The Famiglia’s Future Capo Cruel And Icy. The Smiles He Alone Has For Me Calm The Tumult In My Thoughts. What If You Meet Your Soulmate At The Inopportune Time?
I’d Known Some Of The Cruellest Men, But Nothing Could Ever Be Crueller Than Fate Itself.
Screams And Laughter Filled The Air, And The Lingering Odour Of Charcoal Tickled My Nose. Mom Caught My Attention As She Lounged On A Sunchair Next To Our Expansive Pool Landscape, Where My Twin Nevio And Cousins Alessio And Massimo Were Engaged In A Water Battle With Fabiano’s Son Davide And My Uncle Savio. The Women Of The Family Sat On The Sun Loungers Around Them, Sipping Their Drinks.
Only Aurora, Three Years My Junior, Stood At The Pool’s Edge, Watching The Fight As If She May Want To Join In. I Sat On Our Patio, Needing Some Space, But The Noises Became Too Much Even There. As Nevio And I Celebrated Our Twelfth Birthday, The Day Had Been Filled With Presents, Cake, Singing, And Hugs. I Wouldn’t Have Celebrated If It Had Just Been My Birthday, But It Was Also Nevio’s Birthday, So I Braved The Excitement.
I Smiled An Apology To Mom And Rose From My Chair. She Nodded, A Few Strands Of Blonde Hair Falling Out Of Her Messy Bun. She Knew I Had To Go And Spend The Rest Of The Evening Alone In My Room. I Looked Around, Expecting Dad To Say Good Night Like I Always Did. I Discovered Him, Nino, And Fabiano In Our Mansion’s Common Area. It Was A Busy Place Most Of The Time.
With Three Families Living Under One Roof, This Was The Place Where Everyone Gathered To Celebrate And Argue. And Fabiano, Who Was Like A Brother To My Father And Uncles Despite Not Being Blood, Came Around Often As Well. They Were Conversing Quietly. I Could Tell There Was Something Wrong. There Was A Nervous Energy In The Air That Made My Skin Prickle And Made Me Want For A Dark Corner To Hide In.
When Dad Saw Me, He Became Silent. His Dark Eyes—the Same Dark Brown As Mine—held A Gleam I Couldn’t Read Before Becoming Tender. I Approached Him And Briefly Hugged His Middle. “I’m Going To Bed.” “Perform That.” He Kissed The Top Of My Head Before I Pulled Away, And I Smiled At Nino And Fabiano, Which Felt A Little Tight From Overuse Today, Before Heading Into My Family’s Wing And Into My Room.
Until A Few Years Ago, Nevio And I Shared A Room, But When I Was Overwhelmed By Events, I Needed Absolute Silence, And Nevio Wasn’t The Quiet Kind. His Room Was A Battleground, But Mine Was Orderly And Spotless. Nonetheless, Our Rooms Were Connected By A Door, Allowing Us To Easily Visit The Other. Despite The Fact That It Was Just Eight O’clock, I Got Ready For Bed, But I Was Tired And Preferred To Read In Bed.
It Was Already Eleven O’clock When I Realised My Mind And Body Would Not Be At Peace Anytime Soon. I Was Still Too Tired From The Day. It Had Becoming Quieter Outside. Before I Went Downstairs, I Got Out Of Bed And Put On My Favourite White Leotard, Tights, Tutu, And Ballet Shoes. I Could See Mom, Nino’s Wife Kiara, Via The French Doors.
Gemma, Savio’s Wife, And Leona, Fabiano’s Wife, Were Still Talking And Drinking Wine. I Could Also Hear Movement Farther Down, Which I Assumed Was From The Other Kids. I Opted Out Of My Ballet Studio In The Little Garden House. I Didn’t Like Dancing In The Garden Since There Were So Many People. Instead, I Went Down To The Basement. My Father Did Not Want Me To Be Down There.
But, Now That Nevio Had Cracked The Code To The Steel Door, I Went There Whenever I Couldn’t Find Solitude Elsewhere. I’d Always Enjoyed Being In The Dark. When The World Around Me Became Too Much, When The Sounds And Smells Clogged My Brain Like An Avalanche, Threatening To Bury Me Underneath, I Sought Refuge In The Nooks And Crevices Of Our Mansion. I’d Roamed The Sprawling Tunnels And Rooms Beneath Our Mansion And The Two Neighboring Houses Countless Nights. One Belonged To Fabiano And His Family, While The Other Was Mostly Empty.
Dad Purchased It Because He Did Not Want Direct Neighbours. When My Uncle Adamo And His Family Visited Las Vegas, They Lived There. Something Seemed Off About The Basement Tonight. It Took A Few Moments For My Eyes To Adjust To The Darkness, And That’s When I Realised The Light Was Coming From Somewhere Down The Hall. I Followed It Till I Arrived At The First Corridor Under The Neighbour Mansion.
It Had Been Illuminated. When I Heard Low Voices From Behind One Of The Doors, My Brows Furrowed. Shuffling Sounded Farther Down The Corridor, Like Shoes Being Dragged Across Stone, And I Crept Inside The Room Next The Cell. It Wasn’t Dark Either, And As I Turned Around, I Saw Why. The Room Had A Floor-length Window That Looked Into The Next Cell. Dad And Nevio Were Both Inside, But They Didn’t Seem To Notice Me. This Was Similar To A One-way Window. I Moved In Closer, Curious As To What Was Going On. Nevio Still Had Wet Hair And Was Barefoot.
Nino And Fabiano Entered The Cell, Dragging A Very Tall But Skinny Man After Them. They Pushed Him Onto A Stretcher In The Middle Of The Room, Then Cuffed Him To It. “Enjoy Your Birthday Present,” Fabiano Said With A Shake Of His Head, His Smile Somewhat Off-kilter, And Walked Away. Nevio Licked His Lips As He Looked Between Dad And Nino. “present?” The Eager Note In His Voice Made Me Shiver.
“He’s Yours To Deal With,” Dad Said, Motioning To The Terrified Man Whose Wide Eyes Darted Between My Brother And Father. Nevio Chuckled Darkly, Knelt, And Pulled His Knives. He Carried Two In Leather Holsters At His Calves At All Times. Weapons, Not Shoes Or Socks. P I Stepped Back, Shaking My Head. What Was The Situation? Nevio Almost Sprang At The Man On The Stretcher, Like A Cat Pouncing On An Injured Mouse, And Slashed The Blades Over His Cheek In A Slashing Motion.
A Scream Rang Out, And I Spun Around, My Heart Pounding And My Vision Blurring. I Didn’t Stop Running Until I Came To A Dead End In A Dark Corridor. My Breathing Was Difficult. I Tried To Process What I’d Seen And Figure Out What It All Meant. Dad Had Given Nevio A Man To Contend With… In Las Vegas, I Knew Dad Was Feared.
After All, He Was The Capo Of The Camorra, But He’d Always Made Sure I Didn’t Know Too Much About His Work. I’d Never Heard The Details Of The Rumors Because I Didn’t Go To School Or Have Contact With People Outside Of Our World. Even With My Little Knowledge, I Could Only Assume That Dad Had Given Nevio That Man So That He Might Severely Injure Him.
